• As India has a multi-party system, there are six national parties in the county - AAP, BSP, BJP, Congress, CPI-M, and NPP (the first national party from the North-East region).
•In 1985, the Tenth Schedule of the 52nd amendment to the Constitution of India was passed by the Parliament of India, which resulted in the introduction of the new word 'Political Party' in the Constitution of India. Thus, political parties got recognition in the Constitution.
• the six Fundamental Rights under Article 19 can be suspended only when the National Emergency is declared on the ground of war or external aggression.

Rajasthan was the first state in India where RTI Campaign started in the year 1995.
In 1996, there was a National campaign for RTI act.
Tamilnadu is the first state in India to have RTI act which came into affect from 1997.
