This was really fascinating and extremely well written Joe. Extremely informative and a great showcase of your knowledge and skills!! Keep up the awesome work Joe! Great video and production! Pretty insane they were to fix their issue with COSTAR. I had no idea!
Thank You Sean! I think this is probably my best video yet, so I hope to follow this sort of writing and recording style going forward. And yea, COSTAR was wild, it was fortunate that Hubble was designed to be modular to an extent which allowed for such a repair to be possible. And, it has worked well ever since!
@@CarlosEatsBurgers TRUE! So much AI Generated stuff out there these days x.x This is one of the reasons I put myself on the Camera, because I like being able to see the person who is talking to me in videos.
Hubble orbits in direct sunlight, and yet can photograph starscapes just by turning away from the sun and shading the lens aperture. This is because there is not atmospheric light scattering like on Earth ... because there is no atmosphere in space ... just like on the moon ... aye? the starscapes from the moon's surface would be even more fantastic to view that the starscapes as seen from base camp on Everest on a clear night.
That is a good point, I can imagine the views of the stars and of astronomical objects would be particularly good from the moon! And yes, for Hubble because it sits above the Earths atmosphere it's not affected by it. Giving it a much clearer view as well as access to more parts of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Tell me , is there anything else in this world that twinkles other than a star,I'm having a hard time thinking of anything else that does. There are things that shimmer sparkle flicker, and no your fathers eye doesn't count thats just a type of metaphor for not being born yet.

@@cuppasciencejoe Yes. There may be full size astronomical and radio telescopes built or placed on the moon ... in the more distant future.
