Im planning to visit the area this summer, just a few things if you can help me with: Radio frequencies for the railway here, and a link to the Marc passenger train schedules. I might do a chase from here to Washington D.C of a CSX freight train too. Nice catches!
Great piece, Mike, great piece. You sent me on a feels trip! I knew from the second I stepped out of the car and onto the platform looking at Maryland Heights and the Potomac that Harpers Ferry was instantly added to my top 5 favorite railfanning locations of all time. I love the place, everything about it rocks. If I can ever land major-related work in DC then I'd live in this town in a second. The Cumberland Sub is an awesome stretch of railroad. I also have a lot of love for Point of Rocks. Only got to spend about an hour there back in 2010 but it is a cool location of which I will definitely return. Weren't quite as many MP36's when I was there though hehe.
Thanks Mike! I really enjoyed this place! We plan on coming back down here again sometime in late spring/early summer where we have more light. We also want to check out Point of Rocks more too, We only caught the Amtrak and MARC trains there. BTW, how's that Folkston video coming along? LOL :p
All the narration is finally recorded and it's ready for the editing to begin...the editing just hasn't...begun yet lol. I really should get to that material, the first video alone has about 60 gigs worth of files that I really need to move off my main drive hehe.
Nice video! Next time you're in the area you should try visiting Shenandoah Jct. Great place, NS Hagerstown District passes over top of the CSX Cumberland Sub. So you get a lot of action.
