I agree that growling is a lot easier than shrieking. Your vocal chords are way more relaxed and the sound comes roughly from where you'd expect it. With shrieking, you have to compress your vocal chords right, put the sound higher and make it more nasal and also practice the right volume and learn how to not push yourself too far while also sounding wicked. It's probably better to learn growling first and put the basics down, before attempting to shriek.
Good stuff! You learn fast brother. Becoming very aware of your Throat and where in the Throat (near the top or bottom, middle, more frontal or in the back) greatly effects/ affects how to emulate various growls and tonality, in tandem with breathing and how you manipulate the diaphragm (more open, a little compressed or tightened) will provide various ways how to get the growls/ lows you want. After that, it's just practice and repetition. Hails!!!
Manage to work vocals twice a day... Not stupid for guy like me that can sing only in his car on road to work. Ok, I manage to broke my voice sometimes in congestions but learning is another way to start a day. Just breathing that is a bit harder in a car (I can really feel difference with good position of torso). One question, maybe simple and stupid : How do you manage (if experienced) hyperventilation when singing ? (barely stopped singing during pandemic, now hard to retrieve my entire "capacity")
I'll try and put this into practise. I genuinely believe men can do this easier than women. Not being able to do death and black metal vocals without a 10 minute coughing fit is hindering my journey to Raw Black Metal superstardom. 😉
NICE VIDEO BRUH NOW ITS MY TIME TO SAY SOME THINGS TO MY DOG

If I dared to call something I learned in 1 week by its true name.. then it wouldn't be so great, right?
