Funny, we've seen mariachi bands playing on railroad tracks in other parts of SoCal too. Is there something special regarding mariachi and railways?
It´s not a mariachi, we refer to them as "norteño band". Not the best mexican music.

We think they are still undergoing testing, so are probably not being used as exclusive locomotives yet.
On the Cascades, it happens very frequently.
