What a beautiful lady. I was lucky enough to be in the presents of one of theses ladies at an air show years ago. They are just amazing. It’s nice to see them bringing history alive again. ♥️👍

i flew on the yankee lady in 2020 with my grandpa. it is something i will never forget. you can see how it was built, inside you could see the gaps in the aluminum panels where they were rivited together. and the whole plane shakes from the engines. i live near willow run, so i used to be able to see the b17 take off from my front porch.
now, its been sold and i wont be able to do that again

My family and I polished the area around the nose art for years. We did it because it was difficult and we could easily point out our hard work. I considered it a honor and a rare privilege. Crying shame that it was sold.

Did I miss something on this. Was this plane sold out of their collection?

@@HistorySavior1941 Yes, she was sold to a collector in New Zealand. After some prep work The Lady will be leaving the U.S.

@@ex-iu6ci The collector is in California, but she's going to Avspecs in NZ for restoration to WWII Combat Spec. After that she will be shipped back, but I've been hearing it might be years until she's back. After that she may never leave CA.

Sold for millions. Everyone involved are subject to a NDA.
