- We came across this MASSIVE stalactite in a cenote in Mexico and wanted to figure out roughly how tall it was and how long it would have taken to form. The answers are a bit mind-boggling.
Denotes are under threat by a gigantic construction plan in Mexico - find out more through @soscenotes

Almost speechless & thank you! Watching again immediately sir!
So glad you like it Lori!
It is a fascinating thing to contemplate. Look at the Nahoch Na Chich Formations. You may find some very intriguing bi-directional formations. Their complexity and delicate multi-directional finger like formations in the opposite path of drip seem to beg the question of another etiology or at the very minimum an adjunctive formative modality than simply water and mineral accretion over time.......BTW, this is a splendidly well done video. Ethereal views and subtle silent captions perfect! Bravo. Cheers.
Thank you! Just googled those formations, and they added to my hypothesis that Mexico is on shrooms. As in, the actual geology, the land, is on a trip.
@@DaanVerhoeven hypothesis : perhaps fulgurite type formation writ large?…….
So ancient, so beautiful. What a tragedy they are now threatened by humans 😔
Yes, but there’s hope
