love the idea of leaving some of original black patina on. was it difficult sanding the pegs? what did you use the stainless dremel wheel on?
I cleaned up the bolts and nuts with the grinding wheels. It made short work of the surface rust so that I could paint them. If you have a lot of hardware with little hard to reach places, I would recommend the dremel.
