Yes, I totally agree! I can’t stand going to gigs and seeing people filming the whole show on their phone…….yet I’m forever watching that same footage on UA-cam!!

Also, don’t film non stop. Choose just a few songs.
I remember seeing them on THE Joshua Tree Tour in 87. My first time seeing them, not my last. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. One of the best albums ever made. Greatest band with incredible talent and values. They have done so much good for the world. Love these guys!
I travelled from Melbourne Australia to watch this show, It was worth every moment and every dime to sit up on the very back row of Croke park and watch the lads do there thing! An amazing night that I will never forget!
What ever job you do if you have fellow workmates who's attention to detail and professionalism is everything you want and millions of others do then that is something very special.
Edge is under rated. I never realized how good he was until I saw the concert. No recording quite captures the orchestra that is the sound of his guitar. When you are there, it is just unbelievable how full he makes it sound, you'd think there were at leeeeast one other guitarist. The guy is a master of delay effects.
I've always said " The Edge " is a one man sound machine, and the real sound of U2, and I've seen them live many times, and this is a Brilliant Concert, and captures him at his best....
Totally agree. I don't play guitar so I can't offer up any specifics. But I saw the Elevation tour many times back in '01 and it felt like Edge dominated (not the right word) many of the songs. It was the first time I left U2 shows feeling this way. He was/is incredible.
To see how much of a perfectionist the Edge is, search for a video on here called Rig Rundown. They go behind the scenes with his guitar tech. I don't play but it's very interesting to see the work that goes on behind the scenes. *Rig Rundown has many episodes featuring different artists, just look until you find his episode.
Was there with my 12 year old son at this angle, he had the same t shirt on I wore 30 years before at Croke park, what an amazing experience for us both. Dublin born and bred x
Ouch. Got to say that it’s the best spot anyone ever got so lucky to get in a band. He doesn’t even sing any background vocals or anything. Just standing there hanging out playing single note beginner bass licks with a pick. Brilliant.
Travelled from Perth, Australia to see this show with my dad who had seen them here in 1987, we were standing just to the right of Larry Mullen Jnr, excellent footage! Thanks Dario!
Amazing to see how technology has advanced in terms of concert production values and the ubiquitous hand held high definition recording. It's a long way from the guy on O'Connell Bridge selling scratchy bootleg tapes for a fiver. Having said that the interference caused by the original source and delayed sound of Larry's drumming for the first few songs (before he moves to the back kit) is a tad jarring. 1st world gripe....:-)
Looks like you are befuddled, confusing a post with "lol" in it with one that's whining; why are you complaining about somebody pointing out why someone might not vote this a thumbsup? u2 will be releasing a Blu-ray of this with 1080p24 video and lossless 5.1 surround sound, so why would I want to watch more than a few seconds of this which isnt' enjoyable to watch with crappy UA-cam bitrates and detrimental UA-cam lossy .mp3-quality 192 Kbps audio when I could wait for the professionally mixed and mastered Blu-ray from muticams on dollies and multitracked 24/96 audio? I could get someone to punch me in the face for free too, does that mean I should? Criticism - the expression of disapproval of someone or something based on perceived faults or mistakes Whine - a long, high-pitched complaining cry Please learn to better use the glorious English language.

That’s a way to start U2 concert. Start off with Sunday Bloody Sunday !!! Get the CROWD into it !!! Bono, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr, and who could not forget “The Edge”. Somebody had to stand up and Rock n Roll U2 DID !!!!
I was at the sunday 1987 croke park gig and it was the same set. It was my first gig. Tickets were 12.50 punt. The pretenders were support. Those were the days you couid go to the dockers pub anytime and see U2 drinking there.

@@teresathompson5701 I live about 15 miles from Slane and have friends there. There's nothing confirmed but U2 would be top of Mountcharles(owns the Slane venue) list and they would easily sell out the venue(100,000+). I was at their concert there in 2001 and it was unbelievable. The Slane show was released on DVD. Have a look around UA-cam for it, get the best quality and enjoy it. Bono buried his dad only a few days before the show(there was two shows). They played two Saturdays and the Irish government actually changed the law to allow two shows to go ahead, such was the demand.

This was the first 30 mins of the show that I could not see! Thank you!! We were up against the stage to the right. The remainder of the show was spectacular!
I like that there are no costumes, fireworks, dancing elephants, etc. Just the music, which stands, and stands very, very well, for itself. I wish other bands would do the same, but I guess the problem is that few have the music and stage presence to pull that off without the theatrics. Springsteen, for example, has been doing the same thing - letting the music be the focus - for about 45 years. It helps to have 300 songs to draw on. Great video. Thank you.

I love how the crowd is even into The Waterboys before the show. Its every show clip I have seen, not just this one

U2 went through there OTT stage with Zoo TV. Always prefer bands who just play there music.
