at 16:40 why not just cycle the remand? I mean he wanted to play the snapcaster but he could have held it up and hoped to draw a land so that next turn he could snap back dispel if he didn't play inquisition again. not to mention at the time he was looking for lands and would have helped dig through the deck.
It's not a question of whether pyromancer is good against trophy, it's more that other midrange decks can use assassin's trophy which gives them game against tron.
Yeah, that's totally reasonable. I guess my point, although not very clear, was that other decks will adjust to utilize Trophy and Pyromancer does a nice job of not being totally weak to it and might even benefit from the way Trophy could potentially cause the metagame to shift.
Todd if u see this comment try playing twin with deceiver banned and twin unbanned and see how that goes cause to get ur six creatures u have to play temur
You're right i would have gone for it. He may have been playing conservatively and was trying not to lose so he kept it up to tap down a creature, but if he thought there was a chance for a bolt or something he should have gone for it because he would lose either way and if he tried for it he may win opposed to him not and the bolt being drawn off the top.
The exarch would be summoning sick so you can't combo off that turn, you have to pass turn and hope Todd doesn't have removal. It's probably just better at that point to use the exarch to "gain" some life by tapping an attacker
Zach Porr good point lol sometimes i forget u cant tap right away. With it being banned so long im just used to playing with kiki now and it has haste lol
How can anyone think that Dig would be safe to unban? I mean common the card is banned in Legacy and restricted in Vintage just like Treasure Cruise. I mean i can atleast understand why you could make an argument for cards like Splinter Twin and Birthing Pod since those cards have atleast not jet dominanted any of the eternal formats. Also so try Birthing Pod to try and find out if you think it`s safe to unban
that was still during main phase. he used exarch in response to the inquisition so that way it wouldnt be discarded. once the exarch resolved he dreadbored it. all of that was during main phase. not a mistake.
Well they were just shortcutting. He went to tap his white source with exarch, so Stevens essentially floated a mana in response and then went on to dreadbore after the exarch resolved. It looked like he was trying to dreadbore in response but i think he was just shortcutting
“The sideboards I would be playing with would be completely different, because their wouldn’t be the other twenty decks...” I feel like that’s the real problem with Twin. Modern is great because you can essentially play whatever you want, and Twin would stop that cold.
@@garysmith4427 incorrect. UWx control has made many several strong finishes lately. GB (not Jund) is entirely reasonable and only getting better come GRN. Mardu Pyro and various death's shadow decks are all decent. Remember: Skred won a GP. That's the modern that ceases to exist with a Twin unban.
The one thing I can't deal with in all the scg videos is the crazy long intros. Commander vs, these videos, all the magic online vids. Why does it take 10-20 minutes to get into the vid?
Id like to see a Birthing Pod Gauntlet.
Same.
that would be my favourite too
Yes please do more of these! Would love to see Stoneforge Mystic and Pod in action.
So what I've learned is twin is fine and I agree with Todd, an interactive modern is healthier than solitaire the gathering

At around 9:30: Todd's lands should all be tapped. He has to pay 2 for Pyro and 2x1 for the remanded Thoughtseize.
I was just thinking the same thing. Getting the Pyromancer token and life total going to 13 proves he successfully re-played Thoughtsieze.. Wtf?
Game at 4:36
Hoping for pod the next time
it would be great to see Pod in VS Series. :')
Be down to see Pod Gauntlet.
please i need more of these videos
I would like to see birthing pod against modern decks right now
Birthing Pod, let's go!!
Maybe Splinter twin and SFM are getting unbanned with Assassin's Trophy in the format. What do you guys think?
A big nope from the future
I think mardu pyromancer is my fave deck in modern atm
By far the best non-blue fair deck imo. At least until assassin's trophy is legal.
@@Mizziri yeah then jund is gonna be pretty damn good. Or even rock
To be fair, Mardu Pyromancer is probably fine against Assassin's Trophy in most circumstances.
It's not a question of whether pyromancer is good against trophy, it's more that other midrange decks can use assassin's trophy which gives them game against tron.

I would like an * on the first match, I felt it won on the back of blood moon more than the combo.
are u insane JITTE?! that card is so busted
Todd if u see this comment try playing twin with deceiver banned and twin unbanned and see how that goes cause to get ur six creatures u have to play temur
You can play jeskai with village bell ringer and he is a 1/4 too. Though he can't tap lands or other stuff like O-stone to mess with the opp.
"Decklists" link is incorrect, it points to yesterday's video.
Did I miss something game one around the 11:20-11:30 mark ? Why not fetch, play exarch and untap a land and try to go for it ?
I mean Stevens had bolt and K-command in hand but why not go for it then
You're right i would have gone for it. Excellent point lol ,I'm so used to it happening at EOT I was like ummmm 🤔🤔
A pod or stoneforge gauntlet would be insane
Also, #UnbanSplinterTwin
SFM and Pod
#freetwin #freeprobe make combo great again.
So does Todd calling it "Etcharch" drive anyone else absolutely crazy? or is it just me?
MrZix which Todd lol?
At 17:20 wasnt todd Anderson supoosed to take 6 instead of 3?
Jared Reis I was thinking the same thing. It didn’t matter in the end but that shock land on the last turn wouldn’t be able to be played.
No, Rabblemaster pumps himself: scryfall.com/card/ddt/46/goblin-rabblemaster
THE HOARD STRIKES AGAIN

The graveyard isn't an infinite resource, and many decks struggle to get that many cards into the graveyard
Any deck running Dig Through Time will have plenty of ways to put cards in the bin
Modern isn't legacy or vintage... double blue in a format which right now there is one blue deck isn't exactly easy...
Next week do eye of ugin eldrazi
My take away from this series is they should've banned exarch instead of splinter twin.
Explore pod!!
Todd wins
I really dislike how badly tuned this twin list is...
18:15 Dreadbore is a sorcery, y’all...😑
that was still during main phase. he used exarch in response to the inquisition so that way it wouldnt be discarded. once the exarch resolved he dreadbored it. all of that was during main phase. not a mistake.

Did Todd Stevens Dreadbore at instant speed at 18:17?
No, this was still his second main phase. He was floating a mana and casted it after all spells/triggers resolved.
“The sideboards I would be playing with would be completely different, because their wouldn’t be the other twenty decks...” I feel like that’s the real problem with Twin. Modern is great because you can essentially play whatever you want, and Twin would stop that cold.
You can't play whatever you want if you want to be competitive...that's the truth
Except the format right now is play whatever you want as long as it can kill turn 3/4
@@garysmith4427 incorrect. UWx control has made many several strong finishes lately. GB (not Jund) is entirely reasonable and only getting better come GRN. Mardu Pyro and various death's shadow decks are all decent.

bridging cards.....like nails on a chalk board

They literally played the first land at 4:40. What are you even talking about?
Unban splinter twin and ban deceiver exarch problem solved!!!!
Steven's didnt take 2 off of thoughtseize when it got remanded. The 2 life is a cost even if it gets countered so he should've ended at 11 not 13
Its not cost, its upon resolution
No it just kills the diversity...
