We stopped getting cinematics, we stopped getting origin stories. This stuff is cool, but why did the things that made us all fall in love with the IP have to die?

I wish they did this sort of thing with Venture. They are probably the most shallow character right now and it’s hard for people to connect with them when there isn’t anything interesting going on. They like digging up old relics and are apart of a club. Ventures whole personality revolves around their hobby, it’s very 1 dimensional. I’m glad Juno at least is getting development, but it feels like they just didn’t care about Venture, which still bugs me.

Probably they keep what's next for some interesting story development even tho it would have been nice to get more info or a proper origin story instead of the animated comics that followed and didn't learn more than them fightning first Mauga. Or maybe they just revealed the god AI under Petra because they didn't knew how to make the character interesting but don't have plans to continue this reveal, would be twice sad

What I love is Juno's story mirrors Mei's in alot of ways. I can see the narrative of Mei helping Juno save her people as she could not save her own. Would bring her alot of closure id imagine.

So having a character that put a spin on his classic origin is pretty cool to me. Overwatch enthralled me with it's lore back ib 2016 and is why I'm a fan and still one today. So calling Juno "Overwatch's Superman" is a big compliment.

In Illari's defense, it was her own power that unleashed and killed everyone around her. She feels a lot of personal guilt for that, even if she didn't choose to do it. Juno still believes there's hope that she can get back to her family in time.
Honestly I love the use of the comic format for this! I thing it works really well for the story beats and the artstyle is so cool! Keep up the good work :D

You need lot of people working for that. Overwatch team is already spread thin and compared to other blizz games, they dont have the budget to hire a third party.

I love this. Loved the one for venture too. I feel this is such a great form of art. Getting the VAs to tell the stories as they show up in comic form. This is inspiring for me as an aspiring comic writer and voice actor

It is sad to see, that multimilion dollar company like Blizzard doesn't have enough staff to produce at least fully animated origin story for a hero. It seems, gone are the days of the cinematics and gone are the days of animated origin stories. :/ To see this game in this state.. the game with foundations built around strong artstyle and character design... it is just sad. I wish for golden era of Overwatch to return.
While the lack of the origin story animatics is still a little sad, this comic does cover that base of telling us about Juno's background before current events. Now if only we could get substantial backstory for Venture...

The alarm that happens when she's leaving makes me think they are most likely all dead, and she knows it. I think her "save my home" motivation is "use the lessons my family learned to better survive on Mars" not "I need to get back to save my family." If she wanted to leave Earth with supplies to save her family, it would not make sense for her to join Overwatch and stay on Earth doing random missions. I really think her fam is gone af

The alarm that happens when she's leaving makes me think they are most likely all dead, and she knows it. I think her "save my home" motivation is "use the lessons my family learned to better survive on Mars" not "I need to get back to save my family." If she wanted to leave Earth with supplies to save her family, it would not make sense for her to join Overwatch and stay on Earth doing random missions. I really think her fam is gone af

Idk how I feel about this lore tho, bc it’s so wildly similar to Mei's arcs.... I wish it was slightly less copy paste, like I get it’s so that those two can connect and bond over the similar experience but I wouldn't have made it so one to one.

Love this, just did Microsoft fire much of the cinematics team workers the same way they fired Tangoworks Studios? It's kind of odd not to get Origin stories too. It would be a crime to fire those guys
If this story ever gets expanded(and i mean, if ever), please be cinematic. Personally, that's what really gave these heroes life

I wasn’t expecting to cry during her hero story. I thought her story would be happier from how bubbly her character is.
