In this special report, NDTV visits the recently inaugurated 'gurukul' where one can see a fascinating blend of tradition and modernity. My brother studies in this school in 7th standard. The way they are inculcating values in students is so nice. After being enrolled in this school, he has been exposed to diverse opportunities to grow himself. He has developed habits of self study. Even he has started reading books apart from his curriculum and subject centered books. The way he converse in English and at the same time he converses in skt too is incomparable. I wish I could also have such school in my childhood period

I am not in favor or against of Ramdev, but this is a true effort to something that we as an Indian need to revive if we need to grow our self esteem. Shame on you NDTV for such sarcastic and bias review of an effort where it is not only taught about strict discipline at an early age with knowledge of our own heritage (Vedas) which we have almost forgotten, but also taught the modern education in such state of art setup that will prepare the pupil to compete with the modern time.
Here it is important to mention when we mock our own rich heritage like Vedas and gurukul, outsiders are rapidly decoding the hidden gem in our Heritage and embracing them. Very irrepressible and immature journalism NDTV.

This approach of education is much needed in today's times for kids to study.

May the lord give more power to Baba Ramdev to continue this good work. Such schools should be in every district of India. Government must simply hand over all government schools to Baba Ramdevji and ask him to run them. That is the fastest way by which highest quality education can reach each and every child in India.

This school looks like a breath of fresh air. Modern schools are suffocating and do not focus on the individual development. I have a lot of respect for this initiative, this is very innovative.
The price is very reasonable and it is super cheap for the facilities. And the most valuable thing that is being provided here is education. Look at the children, none of them are confused when talking to the reporter, they openly discuss, are not shy and aware of day-to-day happenings. This in itself is a big win. Now go talk to kids in convent school and see how the kids behave. How do I know this? I went to convent school myself.
Unfortunately the reporter is not well read, has not thought much about schooling education and is stuck on the facilities and monetary aspect of things. His questions are not inquisitive but seem to be mocking this initiative. For instance, yoga is taught because it is extremely valuable throught your life, if you do yoga, you'll realize this. However his comment is that yoga is being taught because baba Ramdev loves yoga. Well, I'd say, if the reporter tries it himself, he'll realize the abundance of what yoga has to offer - both mentally and physically.
NDTV needs to up its quality of reporters. The current reporter is super confused and doesn't know how to look at such an initiative/facility. He probably went to a modern school. Or he probably had an agenda when he toured this school. Anyway, I'll conclude by saying that what the reporter is doing today is the sum total of his experiences until now and he didn't have an opportunity to look at things differently.
I'm surprised there is no better reporting on this which evaluates this in correct light.
I have a lot of respect for RamKrishna and BalaKrishna. They are doing a great service to the country. I know these school will produce some of the best students who do not lack in morality, are disciplined and look at the things in the right light. Once we see how well they succeed, only then others will believe.
*Worst reporting and THE worst reporter I've ever seen. Look at his body language the way he talks to those pupils, doesn't have any sense and manners of talking with little ones. Although I'm not an orthodox and I'm all for co-education (it helps boys and girls understand each other) but I guess he hasn't been to any Missionary school or any Madrassa, (Even some modern govt run Girls' schools and colleges) they all have separate sections for girls and boys. Infact traditional sexist madrasas have discriminatory rules for female students coz they think 'women are idiot by nature, they don't have decision making power' (as The All India Muslim Personal Law Board claimed in an affidavit on Triple Talaq recently). At least Gurukuls don't discriminate between the two genders. Girls have the same facilities as boys have it. And I think NDTV has narrow-minded tunnel vision for Ancient Gurukulas and VidhyaPeeths. Ancient Gurukulams also taught 'modern' ('contemporary' to that particular times) arts and science. All the great thinkers and scientists like Varahmihir, Panini, Patanjali, Aryabhatta, Chanakya, Kalidasa, Bhasa etc studied contemporary in such gurukulas only. Krishna learned 64 kinds of Arts. I think govt should stop funding and subsidizing madrasas and that money should be spent on govt run totally FREE modern gurukuls for the poverty ridden masses.*

More than Narendra Modi, it is people like you & me who will bring about the change. You are forgetting one thing, as much as we need good leaders, a good leader is nothing without GOOD FOLLOWERS. And good followers do what their leeder asks them to, has faith in the leader, & stands with the leader, without giving in to the slander against them by the opposition, & without changing is loyalty for some personal benefit. The Hindus of India must send their children to this school. Why is it that they are ready to spend double the amount t send their children to "elite christian" schools, but are finding a Hindu school with the same, if not better facilities & education expensive? This is the fee charged by most day schools in India.

1.3 lakhs fee for a year os actually very less compaired to modern school which doesnot even even provide 30 percent of education and facility compaired this gurukul
