  • [Link in description] The most unique, versatile Bach Stradivarius trumpet we've ever had in the shop! This horn has the heavyweight 5.3" 65GH gold brass bell and a 44 nickel silver leadpipe. Not a combo you see every day, yet it works so well. It has a nice thick sound, and with even a small dose of reverb it is a super creamy sounding horn that still has some good pop and presence. The high range has more complexity than many commercial horns and the high A slots really well.

Here's a live video Q&A session Kyle did a couple weeks ago on this horn: • Live hang and Q/A with...
The 65 bell is what Wynton was playing just before he went to his Monette. This one has an extra large 5.3" diameter and a very beautiful taper. The 65 bell was a rotary trumpet bell design that never went into production. Eventually it became popular with improvisers for its unique spin on the Bach sound, but it also has some applications in classical settings as well. The GH bell is a slightly thicker bell gauge with a higher copper content gold brass.
The 44 leadpipe is the same taper as the 43 leadpipe but made of nickel silver instead of brass. The original 43 leadpipe will be included as well. Nickel silver is not susceptible to redrot.
There's some folklore that this is one of the horns that Jack Sheldon was choosing between for his last Bach trumpet, but we can't definitively prove that without documentation. Still a cool story!
This horn also comes with a Bach double case that's in great condition. The valves have metal guides, and we've done a valve alignment. The original finger buttons are included, but the iridescent blue-pink buttons on the horn from Ewan Divitt are incredible. Check out how the color seems to change based on the angle of view!
