I have a shadow shift here in a few days in catch lab for a position… been in bedside for five years working as a nurse for year and a half. I’m hoping that I can get this opportunity to advance. Advancing my nursing career really interests me. I work on cardiac step on you now.
@@np.rellora l haven’t got the job yet but am hoping I do and can fit in with the team. Nervous but excited to learn new skills and advance my career. Thanks for encouragement!
my cardiac nursing journey started in Cardiothoracic ICU then Coronary Care Unit then Cardiac Cath Lab...Prior to that I spent time in neuro ICU, Trauma Ortho , Stroke Unit , Spinal Cord Injury Unit , Haemodialysis,
I am working in Cathlab as RN in US, not working in EP/IR. Working in University Level 1 Trauma Hospital. This is very informative. Do you also do complex cases like impella, ekos, IABP, shockwave, ecmo, rotapro, penumbra, inari, rotapro? We got 4 man team here and normally nurses scrub and monitor. Keep making videos like this! Keep it up sir!
Hello! yes we do Iabp, shockwave, ecmo, rotapro/ orbital atherectomy.hopefully I’ll find time to make more videos. Comments like this motivate me. Thank you. 🙏
Thank you so much for this informative video sir. I'm a new Cath lab Nurse here in the Philippines from Oncology unit. And I'm loving my new unit now🥰🙏 I love Cardiology so maybe that's why I'm excited with my new unit now😊🙏 but definitely because it's more fun in the Cardiac Catheterization. The team are supportive and we're family.❤️🙏
This is insightful, thank you. How do you like working for NHS now (is the pay still lackluster?) Have you always worked in the UK? Also, nice decorations in your house!
Thank you! Yes the preparation for the procedure and nursing care are just the same. Elective patients are normally pre-assessed. Patient who had angiograms/ angioplasty, if without complications, can go home within the same day after recovery.
Sir i am confused which is better course in terms of job and salary in INDIA 1) Cardiac perfusion 2) Cath lab technlogy 3) Cardiac care technology 4) Cardiovascular technology Plzz reply sir
Hi Sir! I'm a cathlab radiographer here in the philippines. I'm planning to go abroad UK specifically. Is the Radiographers only job or focuses only in the machine? Thank you in advance
Hello Ken, yes mostly radiographers deal with the machines. I will have a chat with our radiographers and let's see if we can create a content regarding radiographer's role in the cathlab.
@@np.rellora In my current hospital nurses is for medication at paper works only. Radiographers is in-charge of stents and inflation etc... i'm just curious about the set up in other country. thank you. Godbless!
@@kenramos5283 normally it should only be the machine. Both circulating and scrub nurses (or doctor) deal with stents and the likes. Physiologists deal with machines.
Thank you for the informative video. Do you guys perform cath procedure to clients who are on vents and did anything change as in standard procedures or more patients post covid outbreak? Thank you for your time.
Hello JWinn Lian, (1) Yes, we perform CCL procedures to intubated patients usually with anaesthetic support. There are selected procedures wherein we put patients under general anaesthesia like Cryoablation, complicated PPM and the likes. (2) The only thing we had to change (covid related) during and after pandemic is to routinely check patient's vaccination records and perform covid swabs so we can implement the appropriate infection control protocols/ precautions.
Hi! I am pretty sure that the pay in the US is higher than what we received here in the UK. Our basic pay as a band 5 cathlab nurse in London is around £2490 including high cost allowance BUT Less insurance, Tax and pension. Net pay is £1800 - £2000
Hello 👋 May lead gowns naman po na ginagamit. Basta maayos po ang paggamit at pag suot ng PPE (lead gown/ thyroid shield) at nakapag training ng Basic Radiation Safety, Hindi kailangan mag alala.
