강병인 작가님은 우리가 일상에서도 많이 본 '화요'와 같은 소주 브랜드부터 라면 '열라면', 드라마 '미생' 등 수 많은 글씨 로고도 제작하셨는데요, 오래 전부터 저희 CICI 행사들의 테마 로고도 매년 제작해 주셨답니다.
오늘 인터뷰를 통해 특히 제 마음에 쏙 드는 '웃'자 테마 로고에 대한 설명도 해 주시고, 최근 개최한 CICI의 '새로운 한국 아이디어 공모전'에 최우수상을 받으신 아이디어에 대한 소개, '멋글씨'란 무엇인지, 전통 서예와 디지털 캘리그래피의 차이, 그리고 강작가님만의 영감은 어디에서 얻으시는지까지 다양한 이야기를 나누었습니다.
또 해외 전시와 강연도 여러 차례 하신 경험에 대해서도 이야기를 해 주셨는데요, 수 많은 사람들이 빽빽하게 줄을 서서 기다렸던 스페인 전시, 강작가님의 글씨 쓰는 퍼포먼스를 보고 직접 해보고 싶다며 바닥에 앉아 종이에 한글로 한글자 한글자 열심히 쓰던 인도네이시아 학생들, 그리고 호주에서 강연을 들은 학생의 '순대'에 대한 예상치 못한 감동적인 이야기까지, 영상을 통해 같이 볼까요?
Today we rendez-vous with the renowned calligrapher, Kang Byung In.
Kang Byung In has crafted iconic logos we've all seen in our daily lives, from the 'Hwayo' soju brand to 'Yeol Ramen' and the popular drama 'Misaeng.' He has also created the theme logos for our CICI events for many years now.
In this interview, Kang Byung In discusses the 'woot-웃' theme logo, which is one of my personal favorites, and shares insights on his recent top-winning idea that won the Grand Prize at CICI's 'New Korea Idea Contest.' We also delve into the essence of 'stylish writing,' the differences between traditional calligraphy and digital calligraphy, and where he draws his inspiration.
Additionally, he shares his experiences from multiple international exhibitions and lectures. From the packed lines at his exhibition in Spain to the Indonesian students who, inspired by his performance, sat on the floor eagerly practicing Hangul, and the unexpected, touching story of a student in Australia moved by 'sundae' - let's explore these stories together in the video!

작가님 말씀대로 미래 대한민국의 대표적인 랜드마크는 한글건축작품이 되면 좋겠습니다. 멋글씨는 우리 한국인눈에도 좋지만 세계인들에게도 그럴 것 같아요.
한글이 저렇게 형상화되기에 합당한 글자인지 정말 몰랐습니다~

Calligraphy is a wonderful and difficult writing art. Sadly, it is an insufficiently known and appreciated form of art in western countries. Hangul characters find incredible beauty in calligraphy, especially under the expert brush strokes of Korean Master Kang, who spares no effort to further lift up and export its beauty. Thank you for all your explanations.
