A bottle of this product costs about 15£/liter. I always use an old tooth brush and denatured alcohol which costs 2€/liter. All paint is stripped on plastic and metal minis, except the deep recesses and never lost any details. Resin never tested by me but i think it'll work. After stripping about 10 minis i'm using a normal coffee filter to clean the d.a. and it' s ready for the next Minis.

Caution in that I discoverd that siocast does not stand up to this treatment, it pulls something out of the plastic that makes it crumble. All other plastics I've done this with are fine.

@@greglohman6750 Thank you for that. Fortunately Siocast products didn't reached my desk till today. I knew that Siocast is an upcoming plastic mix which is used more and more by smaller companies. Good to have some amount of BioStrip in reserve. Hopefully BioStrip would work on Siocast without causing any harm.

I have used this stuff and I just brush on a thick coat and leave it, rather than waste ten times the amount in a bath. The recesses that hold the paint will contain soft paint, just use a dental pick to grab the hard to reach places. I also use an electric toothbrush head, it's great.

Honestly just buy a 5 litre barrel of IPA for £20 and it will last you forever. You can keep using it until it basically evaporates away. Ive left my GW metal and plastic minis soaked in it for upto a week before and no ill effects. Usually just soak overnight (laziness) and then in the morning either blast it under a high pressure setting on the shower head or drop it in the ultrasonic cleaner and stripped back to new. Anything left in the deepest details just gets a second soak.

For the metal pieces ONLY, the best stripping medium is Nitro paint stripper. But it has to be used with caution in an open space. It strips absolutely everything, including putty fillings and ocassionally CA glue joints. For plastic pieces I would recommend either isopropylic alcohol or oven cleaning spray. For 3D printed pieces I would only use oven spray.

i still just use 90% alcohol to strip my minis. give them a bath for 20-30 minutes, give them a scrub, and if i need to they get another bath. is it the best solution? no. does it work well enough? yes :)

Great video as always and what a cool product! Typically I have used either IPA for plastic or resin minis and Acetone for metal, but both process would need significantly more time to do and a respirator mask in a well ventilated room. Effective yes, but more time consuming and risky than this method. My only question is did you have to take any respirator like precautions in this undisclosed location that may or may not be a bathroom?
