An architect's house: a project between contemporary and local history - MOG Architetti (Home Tour)

The project was born from the architect's deep desire to build his own family home, celebrating love and beauty through architecture, enhancing matter and volume.
The choice of materials was carefully considered: the reinforced concrete represents contemporaneity, while the clay brick recalls the local building tradition. Hand-made soft clay bricks produced in the "old-fashioned way" in the nearby Noale kiln, they feature a particular process that gives the bricks an irregularity in the profiles and a very light shade variation on a yellow base.
The volume of the building is generated by the skilful composition of solids and voids, with the staircase placed in the center as the fulcrum of the entire structure.
The internal spaces are organized around three main volumes, dedicated to the family's work activities.
For the ground floor, we opted for the use of Architop microcement both in the internal and external environments, aiming to create a spatial continuity that extends outwards, amplifying the perception of connection with the surrounding environment, while in the stairs it is used Microtopping. Wood, in its natural essence, dominates the sleeping area, giving warmth and hospitality to the rooms.
The asymmetrical double-pitch roof, supported by a minimalist steel beam, gives a unique character to the modern building, similar to a large hat that protects the spaces below.
Natural light is the undisputed protagonist of this house, shaping the environment and accentuating the surfaces and volumes. Thanks to the large windows and minimal frames, light penetrates the rooms, creating changing atmospheres that mark the passage of time. The dynamic perception of light and shadow allows inhabitants to grasp the rhythm of the seasons and appreciate the subtle chromatic variations that result from it.
This house presents itself as a true "machine for living", where architecture and nature blend harmoniously, offering a unique and enveloping living experience.

La scala ricorda le scale scarpiane. L'inizio basamentale in cls , ha qualcosa di quella presente allo showroom Olivetti e il suo continuo, quella in ferro ,presente a Castelvecchio(erroneamente attribuita a lui e progettata da Pino Tommasi,suo discente, nel 2007,per la riapertura del museo)
