Literally the best live performance ive ever heard.
When i first saw pulse/kairo i fell in love.
Def worth the watch off psychedelics.
Such a bizzare movie and concept, really drew me in.
Not to mention this performance is akin to the studio version of the song. And actually a little better. Theres more emotion and nostalgia mixed with it.
I find it crazy that for a movie released in 2001 still holds such an impact to this day.
Im mad i didnt find this movie earlier.

First heard the song when it was featured as the ed for a horror movie which I watched in 360p and can’t remember the name of but I remember I almost pissed my pants, then the prelude started playing, when the drums came in, I was like, “damn, this shit fire”. I remember that day I played the song on loop over and over and over again, I remember being home with my grandpa and we just listened to this song all afternoon.

Same, heard from Kairo. My Japanese is limited but you know it's a good song when you get hooked just from the emotion alone.

This is Cocco's last live/concert after she announced she was going to retire from the music industry. Cocco is also well known for her emotional/intense performances. I think she's getting emotional during singing this song because she had to say goodbye to everyone.
You can find the translation of this song here www.jpopasia.com/cocco/lyrics/246612/the-best-ban-%E3%82%B6%E3%83%BB%E3%83%99%E3%82%B9%E3%83%88%E7%9B%A4/hane-lay-down-my-arms-%E7%BE%BD%E6%A0%B9/

      @@itselegia why did she retire?

    • @itselegia

@@heywoodfloyd9 according to this interview for ryukyu shimpo on her 20-year career (ryukyushimpo.jp/news/entry-516060.html) and 'heaven's hell' documentary
At first Cocco wanted to be a dancer/ballerina but she didn't make it, so she became a singer instead, just to make dance companies thought how foolish they were to let herself go. At that time she didn't like singing, she just fooled herself to sing it.
But then, as time went on, Cocco started to love singing when in the beginning it was just revenge tool for her. she thought that she didn't want to make a career out of the thing she loves, so she chose to retire from the music industry.
(But don't worry, she made a comeback in 2006 and still making music until this day. )
