- Boon was a popular UK TV series between 1986-1995.
The Classic Theme Song 'Hi Ho Silver' is Sang By The Late Jim Diamond.
Here is most of the re occurring cast and characters.
Life goes on and will always move forward but nostalgia is such a strong emotion and is a sentimental longing and affection for a period in the past, especially when it's a reflection of loved ones that have gone.
Be kind, keep smiling...and enjoy the journey.
Lookout for the very last scene at the end. - Розваги
I remember watching this in my teens and loved it
Different times - better times
My family loved Boon, we got to meet Michael Elphick a few times and he was always a gent, what a great guy.
I loved it too, was ace. Happy memories
I watched every episode of this when it was shown..... an amazing series for its time. And WHAT a theme tune
I used to love this programme. Such a long time ago, another era less complicated time.
Less complicated because we were clueless and ignorant, otherwise known as a state of bliss
@@TheSebiestor well we had less but valued things more then , people don’t value nothing especially each other today
@@thesheepman220 Spot on with your comment.
@@TheSebiestor you might have been
Loved this programme just hearing the theme tune brings back memories of happier times.
Boon and London’s Burning made up the perfect Sunday night before school on Monday.
I watched every episode, how I miss the 80’s, great years!
the best
I went to school with Lesley Sharpe
It was great
Growing up in the 70s n 80's as a kid to teen was the best time to grow up. No tech 70s but a better more sociable time and kids played outside with a number of games and used their imagination... then BANG the 80s hit and computers microwaves electronic games we're another option for this many rainy days. Trouble is that the tech ball started rolling in the 80s but never stopped rolling. Tech was a choice in the 80s, now its a necessity and creates tech zombification.
One of my alltime favourite shows. Never missed one episode.
R.I.P Michael Elphick what a brilliant actor!!! Recently read his daughters book!! ❤ this, minder, wiedersehen pet, lovejoy and the bill will always have a place in my heart!!!
I remember I was about 9 years old and was lucky enough to have a TV in my room and my parents used to let me stay up to watch it every week. Of course at that age I never properly appreciated the storylines or remember them but I remember watching him on his motorbike every week. My parents really gave me privileges a lot of other children didn't have, bless em. Proper childhood memories for me.
What a fantastic cast. Forgot how many great actors were in this
How in earth could you forget a Iconic programme like Boon it was brill 😁
👏👏
I loved that series, so easy to watch and enjoy, a wonderful mix of characters. Hi Ho! silver.
A show i never missed!, great actors and storylines, shows like this just don't exist now.
I met saksia Wickham once at the national theatre. Being a totally obsessed fan I could not help but stump up to the receptionist and ask if I can have a word with saskia. I told her was a fan and she might know me.
Cut short , she comes down , takes me back stage and hung out for half hour till she had to go back on .- best time I ever spent. She was absolutely fking gorgeous .
Had a fantastic few days on the set for my work experience from school. Lesley Anne.. stunning 😍 massive thank you to Stan Harding for taking me there and back. Great cast and crew
Wonderful!
Best years ever. Michael Elphick, used to fantasise having him as my dad. Such a handsome gentle giant who through tragedy succumbed to alcohol. Just loved the programme and the bikes. Thanks for the reminder
A brilliant show with great memories of a much better time in our lives 😢
Wow! Jim bloody Diamond (died 2015) what a voice
What a blast from the past
yess really underated singer! I was blown away when I read that he was next to father Ted actor when Dermot Morgan sadly went
@@MarkMahoney great video of a great show👍
💕
I loved watching boon it was a great program that’s when tv was really good back then
A long forgotten trip down memory Lane! I can’t believe ‘Boon’ had slipped from my memory - I loved it when it was on.
Amazing, loved and cherished each episode, ken and Harry amazing characters
I remember this. I used to watch it years ago. Good theme song.
Oh now we are talking superb television here. Boon was one of the best shows on tv. Mostly because of Boon's BSA Lightning (nicknamed White Lightning) and Rocky's Norton Commando motorcycles. Never missed an episode
Absolutely awesome theme tune, have watched the whole series at least 3 times, if not more, loved every episode, wish all these actors/actresses were still around and acting.
This is the way to do it! Straight into the subject matter with no waffling! Very satisfactory, no clickbait.
I remember in early 90s he was in a car on motorway and me and mom on a bus, we waved and he waved back 😃
That's great! 😊
They don’t make them today like this such a shame it was a great programme great cast as well
yes 😊 fantastic character actors to
Boon was always a firm favourite of mine, just loved it and lets not forget the fabulous theme song from the wonderful Jim Diamond too.
👏👌👍
Well done with this little blast down memory lane, I love 'Hi Ho Silver', loved the show, special shout out to Jim Diamond who sang the sound track, i also loved 'I won't let you down' by PHD fronted by Jim Diamond. Boon reminds me of winter back in the 80's, i used to have a 36 mile round trip to work on my motorbike, some very cold, very early morning starts, this takes me right back there, a cold sentimental sadness
Thanks for your thoughts Robert! Yes I'm the same occusionally think of moments in time with a shiver!
@@MarkMahoney yes jim has also passed within the last couple of years
Jim had an amazing voice, went to Butlins in Pwllheli for schools week in 1982, that PHD song was everywhere. Bat Out of Hell was released around then too as everyone was talking about it, I miss the 80's!
Re: above, I think I meant that song Meatloaf did with Cher, as Bat Out of Hell was 1977.
@@iwanwilliams8762 Dead Ringer For Love - another classic! 🙂
I was in it!!! As a kid.
Neil Morrissy was such a lovely bloke to us on set. I never knew his actual name and just called him rocky all the time. Michael was a bit scary though. Around 1989 I would think. I'm 40 now lol
I loved that show...
Where has the time gone.......
Wow, flashback. I’d forgotten about this show. I love the then and now stuff.
good one mate, I've been catching up on them on youtube
I miss the 80s so much 😢 really upsets me
where has the time gone folks.
Used to watch this with my granny Mary. Such good memories ❤
Great tv great times ....love to have them again!
What a great cast this show had.
Back when TV was worth watching.
😊👌👏
No agenda just good entertainment, unlike most of the TV on air today.
Used to work at Nottingham City Council Highways back in the Eighties, and we used to help out by shutting the streets on which they filmed the outdoor scenes. Good Days!
Brilliant series at the time, what a cool dude boon was.
Something reminded me of this show today
That was a fantastic series me and my son loved it
Revived great memories
Rest in Peace Jim Diamond, thank you for the theme song.
this show just screams out for a repeat on itv2. what a belter of an intro song.
Pretty amazing that all but 3 of the cast are still alive after 35 years
A forgotten gem..which is very unfortunate as this was a great show
.
Brilliant time & programme . Shame I'm tv is rubbish now ❤💚💙💜💛🇮🇪
Classic show with a classic TV theme tune!!!!!!
Michael elphick was my relative through marriage. Loved all his programs!!
Going to watch it again
Always loved the theme song.💜
My son thought he was singing ha ha sailor lol
hee hee 😂😀
They changed it up so much each series, I love the early ones because it was filmed by me in Birmingham
BOON was one of so many TV Series & Films I got to work on over the years, with great fellow Cast members, like David Daker,(who I had worked with Before when I was a Child Actor in the 1970's), & Neil Morrissey, Lesley Anne Sharpe, being especially nice to work with, and chat to between filming, sadly all these years on I can't recall the Episode Title or number, as I did a lot of work in the 1980's, only that we were filming on Location, and I had a "Walk-On 1", part so not listed on the Cast Credits this time, Michael Elphick was not as friendly as the rest of the cast, but I recall he said he did not like Motor bikes, and could not ride one, when I asked him why he had a "Stand In" rider for him, I thought it may have been for insurance purposes in case of an accident, Interestingly When i worked on 2 Episodes of DR WHO in 1989 Sylvester McCoy & Will Barton Had Stunt Doubles do the Motor bike Scenes too, and close up shots with Crew Members pushing the bike past Camera.as Sylvester sat on it.
Hi Ho Silver this was one of the best long running British TV shows made in the 1980's. Michael Elphick was fantastic as ex fireman Ken Boon - used to watch him in this and the comedy series Three up, Two Down. This theme by the late Neil Diamond 💎 is real classic. They don't make them like the used to.
Jim Diamond, not Neil Diamond
What a bloody amazing tune! When you hear this, it shows that US TV intros didn't have intros like this!
But some US sitcoms tuned were good like Perfect strangers, Cheers, St Elsewhere, etc!
I was playing the part of the bar man at the Red cow pub in the 80s and Michael Elphic had more than his fair share! I asked the director about all the drinks I was serving, he said just make a note. Michael then went out into the camper outside and slept it off.
I gave him a lift from a function once as he liked my 205GTI - he was drunk then too
@@davewalker7126 sadly the reason why he didn't live longer. Thanks for sharing 👍
Loved that show
Loved this programme. Sunday night tv....last programme watched before bed for school....the joys of childhood. 😁
Loved this show. Even my Da liked it and he was virtually impossible to please. And don't even get me started on the fantastic theme song! (It's on my Itunes playlist).
Used to love that 😂 be nice to have repeats to watch
Love it never miss a episode.🇬🇧👍
Classic show and theme tune what a show, loved it as a kid
Watched this as a kid
RIP 🙏 Jim Diamond 💎
Indeed, a wonderful talent and an iconic theme song!
Really enjoyed this, loved this programme, old is gold👍
Jim Diamond RIP 🙏🏻
Wonderful TV series full of great characters loved the theme song, nice one Mark Hi Ho Silver.
welcome mate!
Wow. Amazed this came up on my feed. A couple of series were filmed at my great-uncle Terry’s hotel, Berrow Court in Edgbaston. My mum and dad still have the painting used as a prop in one of the episodes - the one where you can see some naughty business going on in the upstairs windows! We visited when they were filming the Gypsy Wedding episode. Apparently my great-grand uncle George appears in the conservatory window in one scene!
Take us back to the 80’s the best decade
Great series loved watching this, remember seeing Michael Elphic first in the TV series Privaye Schultz.
Loved this show. When things was nice. Good luck to them all 👍
Jesus I watched Boon and loved it when I was a kid, what's weird is I knew one of the actors that was in that and I didn't even know they were or remember them being in it
Me too. But mine was two
@@stevemorganexperience7833
To forget one is careless, to forget two is unforgivable
Early series of Boom were film in and around Birmingham on 16mm. Film when it was transferred to Lenton Lane studios Nottingham in was shot on video tape. As for Auf Wiedersehn only the second series was shot in and and around Nottingham, I know I worked on both series.
thanks mate
Nice that most are still alive from a series shown so long ago - they form part of my childhood 🙏
probably the best theme tune ever
Hi ho silver ! Jim 💎 diamond ! Absolute hit on the tv back in the day ❤️ top tv .... as always top video mr mark ❤️💯👌
Thanks Louise!! 😊 💕🥀
@@MarkMahoney sure ur not related to boon 🥰 defo some resemblance 👌
@@auntsally3058 il take that hee hee 💕 but noo I don't think so 😊
They went through some women! Bloody hell! Ha! Thanks for this. I loved 'Boon'. That late 80's - early 90's period is somehow still a magical time for me. But it's hard to explain why. It's like it was it's own decade fashion and musically speaking. Especially in the UK I think. If that makes any sense.
This is great Mark,
It's bought back a lot of memories...🙂👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Eddie! 👌👍
Loved boon as a kid. Should do replays 👏👏👏
They do on britbox
I remember this, I used to love this program
Thanks for the memories!
nice one paul
I think it is better now than it was then, the cast, innocent family viewing. Has a look of so many of this vintage though, like it was filmed on a video cassette tape
I had my picture taken with them Bothe at some drag racing car event as a kid back in the 80’s. great show
Always enjoyable but a strange show! I think the writers struggled as to what it wanted to be, theme wise. But it was well produced, beautifully shot and the cast were pro's who enjoyed themselves.
You won't hear anyone in the broadcast industry say a bad word about Micheal Elphick - the man was a true gent, much missed.
Neil Morrisey was destroyed by Michael's death, they were fantastic mates and spent a lot of time together, probably partying!
Astonished to see David Daker is still with us and Tony Caunter! Amazing old troopers.
Nice one mate thanks for insight
Great video mark, I only just got into Boon after missing it back in the day.
Thanks mate and yesss happy watching!
Geese what memories you brought back! McIntyre
Love this video well done
Mark u hero I use to love this programme keep it up mate
Nice one Wayne mate!
Most of it was all filmed near to where I live here in Nottingham, including many of the outside shots, as too was Auf Wiedersehen. Nice one.
Thanks for info! Yes I used to enjoy central television productions!
@The School of the Outdoors the part where he is on his bike in the credits was filmed on formans road sparkhill Birmingham outside my dads garage, I watched them film it ,the bike was pulled on a trailer with boon sat on it.
Another good one Mark xx
😊🥀
Another great video Mark
Nice one mate!
Loving the cameo's 💯
watched wen i was a teen.... nice upload
Brilliant Mark! 😊
🥀🥀😊
So glad when series have an 'ending'. Didn't realise 'Debbie' was Lesley Anne Sharpe (born same year as me - so I know you are going to go back and look at that date Mark!) . Also didn't know Mark Benton was in it too. Now I am educated!!!! And, as always LOVE LOVE LOVE your 'matching' titles. Great stuff as always.
Thanks dawn! And Yes I did go back and look 😉 hope your doing ok 🥀
Loved watching Boon
