I am still on Christmas vibes, how about you?
My husband and I visited the oldest Christmas market in the world and it was my first time visiting this famous Nuremberg Christmas market.
We walked less than one kilometer to reach the market. This market is very near to the central train station and we stayed in a hotel just opposite it.
I recorded the footages on 23rd December 2023 evening. It was the 2nd last day since the market was opened on 1st of December. It was very crowded and not easy to stretch out for filming. I did cut many footages which were blocked by the crowds.
Anyway, as I mentioned in my previous clip , why this Christmas market is very popular? Because it is the oldest one since the middle age! It means it was the first Christmas market opened in 1600’s.
I could imagine it was even more authentic & beautiful in the past! Because too crowded with people coming from everywhere in the world that make it more like a tourist spot rather than a traditional Christmas market :)
For me who live in Germany for quite sometime already, there is not much difference among the Christmas markets in this country, the only difference is the sizes of the markets & the handmade crafts sold. The handmade Christmas presents and souvenirs are more beautiful in this market than any other ones in Germany. Please check it out yourself in this clip.
Fun facts : most Germans I know do not visit Christmas Markets! They told me they rarely visit unless they are going to meet friends for Glühwein :) they don’t like it because it is crowded.
I interviewed and had some chats with students from China, Japan, Korea and India who come to study in Germany. Some Germans from other towns far away from Nuremberg who came just to visit this markets.
