- "Dear Christopher,
Here is your friend Thomas the Tank Engine. He wanted to come out of his station yard and see the world. These stories tell you how he did it.
I hope you will like them because you helped me to make them.
Your Loving Father"
In order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of these beloved stories and the franchise it spawned, I went against bringing out the fanfare and throwing a massive celebration.
Sometimes it's best to just take a step back, and take the simpler approach.
So I hope you enjoy this video, it's not much really...just a conversation. ;)
Big thanks to Haydn, George and Jake for lending their voices.
Go an subscribe to them here. DO IT NOW!!!!

Extra thanks to Jake for letting me use his rendition of Thomas' theme from The Adventure Begins.
Another shout out to the 'Tracy Island' Skype group, you guys are just awesome and really good mates. ;)
Yeah, I know I used Captain America music, sue me ;) - Розваги
0:11 "He's a cheeky little engine with six small wheels, a short stumpy funnel, a short stumpy boiler and a short stumpy dome"
"And you'll be on the mainland before you can say...fat director (that was quite good actually) get back here at once!" 😂
Well this was brilliant. Loved the music and sound effects choices and honestly rail works always stuns me in some capacity. Simplicity is golden. This was a pleasure to watch and a good way to celebrate the 70th!
Reverand W Awdry would be so proud of what Thomas has become ☺ rest in peace reverand Awdry knowing that u created somthing amazing and that u have entertainment children for 70 years and hopefully another 70.
Luke Gauci another 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 actully
This has made me very happy indeed. Love Jake's screaming, must've been interesting to record :P
Is it just me, or at 1:25 it sounds like a parody quote from captain america. You know, "Because the strong man who has known power all his life, may lose respect for that power, but a weak man knows the value of strength, and knows... compassion."
That was rather sweet, Wilbert talking with Thomas.
Also, Gordon at the end, ha! That'll never get old.
A fine piece of work!
Haha! This is excellent, something very suiting for a 70th anniversary ;3
TheTrainModeller Thanks man!
Your retelling of the second book was superb as well! :)
What a phenomenal way to celebrate the 70th anniversary!
3:12 alone proves Gordon's voice here is much better than his voice in the actual show.
Very well made, fav'd :) Liked how it was essientially the beginning of Book 2, but with enough new dialogue to make it an original and fresh little story :) Must say, Railworks made this all the better in terms of visuals, I think due to getting naturally tired of trainz after 7-ish years I instantly find Railworks a lot more eye-catching to watch these days, especially given how good the Thomas models in it are.
After all these 70th anniversary related videos that's torn it, I'm gonna try do a belated something now! :P
This is lovely video. Just is so simple and lovely. Mayoorhan, I salute you!
Skarlouie Thanks Louie! Still sorry for all the trouble I put you through when making this :P
3 dislikes = 1 from Sharon Miller, 1 from Diesel, and 1 from a idiot, OR people thought it was the dis I like button.
Great work. Simple is simply golden. Really wishing railworks will be on Mac...
Can I point out that thomas is NOT common
Short, simple and superb. Loved it!
Gordon's shouting has me in hysterics, and I don't know why.
Two words....heart warming...
Edit: And another word...funny XD
Thomas the tank engine by the reverand W awdry
Wonderful! Laughed quite a bit there at the end to boot! Happy 70th everyone! And cheers to the 100th!
Right in the feels! Nice work, Mayoorhan!
I could have sworn I already posted a comment, but this bears repeating: this is absolutely fantastic! Glad to have been a part of this and the results of it were excellent
Gordon's rampage was the best part of the video XD
Truly commendable. I like the emphasis on cherishing the good things in life. I never really thought of it as the other engines taking their runs for granted while Thomas would long to just get out of the station just once. We all take the good things in life for granted sometimes. :)
Loved the script and the general idea for the 70th celebration, it really worked. Fitting title too, nice one! :D
Oh my this is wonderful
A charming short video. That's all I got to say, well done!
This reflects what inspired him to create our little blue hero. Superb, lad! #70yearsofpuffingalong
this is right on nostalgic
pure nostalgia
i got chills
I always love how you include a human part in almost every single short! Usually Thomas videos on UA-cam are just about the engines, not the people.
That was terrific. Short, but said so much!
The simplicity but beautiful use of the audio and the bit at the end quoting the prelude of book 2 of the RWS is simply something that will ALWAYS put a smile on my face. Welcome a new sub ;)
5 years, since this, and it's still a really great video
Hahahahhaa, wow, absolutely fantastic, very very well done, love it!!!!!
Great tribute to our favorite little engine :)
Brilliant. Ioved it.
Interesting and enjoyable short. Well done!
70 years. I'm glad I got hooked on Thomas. ;D
Great Job!
Beautiful and sweet 😍
Great 70th Anniversary video dude! 😃
It feel like The Rev. W Awdry and Thomas are talking to each other in real life.
I Love the way the grafics looked so real
😢😢😢♥️♥️ awdry 💙
i love it
That was great! :)

What if christopher didnt have any measles
Buteiful
This looks like a prelude to RWS Book 2: "Thomas The Tank Engine."
before you can say FAT DIRECTOR god that was a good one
1:54 When Try Hards Try too Hard
Accidents Will Happen
Nice
YOU'LL BE BACK ON THAT MAIN LINE BEFORE YOU CAN SAY ah-uh.. FAT DIRECTOR hm! That was clever of me! XD
The 2010 faces xdd
Gud vid
That was a good video hey were did you get those cool LNER coaches
NWRailworks, I believe.
An angry Gordon has disliked the video.
+1 Diesel 10
I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!sorry to ask but whats a station pilot?
+Rafael Anacleto A small shunting engine working stationary at a big station:-)
+Sodor Arts Productions oh i see, great great work!!
Ah, nice little story! It seems you kinda used a little structure of dialogue from Captain America it sounded like. It's okay if you don't get what I mean.
22Tesla Haha, no I understand, though that saying is a lot older than the Captain America film ;)
Though I did use the music from that scene if that helps :P
it would been nice if Gordon had said Cinders and Ashes?
Jake's voice sounds more like an armt offrcer in a way...hmmm...i wonder if Bertrum could have jake's voice?...hmmm
How do you get that train game
Where did you get that gordon model?
is it alright, that i can do something similar to this, please?
XL5FAN I would prefer you to not to be honest just seeing as it was my idea and I do feel really proud of what I've made. It was nice of you to ask however! :)
TheScotsmanReturns oh ok then, i was planning to make one at the beginning showing that CGI animated book from the show, then showing a couple of photo's from the railway series while he is saying those lines.
Then starts to show the T.V series from season 1 to today's
how did you get Thomas?
did that red nameplate actualy say gordon?
You have
not seen the last of Gordon the big engine
So it's Awdry's fault Thomas went around the world
It could be. But he's not with us anymore sadly so... I'm not so sure
I'm not sure if Rev. Audrey would talk like this. In interviews I've seen of him he seem to be a grumpy, disagreeable old man.
Alex-Zander Browne AWW REALLY?
NOW YOU'RE GOING TO TELL TRAINS DON'T ACTUALLY TALK OR HAVE FACES!
Look there's no need to be rude, OK. I'm just trying to suggest how it could've been improved, other then the obvious. I like this video.
+TheScotsmanReturns No need to be snarky, it's just an observation. I still enjoy the message that's being conveyed.
