I had the pleasure of seeing STP in concert! The best concert I've EVER BEEN TO and I'LL NEVER FORGET IT!THANK YOU FOR SOME OF THE BEST SONGS IN MUSIC! R.I.P. SCOTT..... GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN!!
Now, this is Rock. What a voice: baritone, powerful, especially full of grit and intensity. Weiland has always been WAY underrated in my opinion. He's one of the greatest singers to Grace the Earth. RIP
he was a drug addict for many years. his addiction won guys. we can't do anything about it,it's the way his brain worked. just remember the good things like his awesome songs and all the good live performances.
WOW, I can't believe it's been this long since he's been gone, I mistook the date for early this year, not last!! :( I still haven't gotten over Layne, and that's been 14-1/2 yrs now.... :( :(
he 2wqas only "kind of an assghole " when his bipolar a manic episode came on, when he wasn't medicated for his mental illness that people seem to forget ans just want to call him an addict , he was trying to feed the machine, and got caught up he stopped the heroin use. the last time i saw scott was at the hard rock in detroit november 2015, he had just had enough his body had enough off all of it his spirit sure did he was depressed and our system in the USA fails people like that.. like layne like andy, like chris cornell, like mike starr, shannon hoon.. but for some reason Scott's the only one who gets shit about it and he was one of the most open honest guys about his demons you'd ever meet.. and to the ying yang TROLL unless you have 2 grammys shoved up your a$$ somewhere STFU you know not of what you speak.
and their awesomeness could only be fully appreciated live. saw them the first time in '97, and they were great. saw 'em again in '08, and they were amazing. THAT was a band, and they had the tunes. shame that if i ever see them again, no matter how good they might be, they won't be quite the same. december of last year was not good times.
That shit gives me the chills, then him and the band takes us higher with the “you, can’t,swallow, what,I’m,thinking”!!Absolute GODLY BAN.. I love being mixed with white because I got in touch with allll good rock muzik! From classic to alternative to grunge!✌🏼
Don't worry OnegoalNosoul, some day you can have the pleasure of saying that to God's face. But I think you'll be too busy pissing yourself to say much.
Okay it is way too weird to see people saying this is the best STP song most people I talk to hate this song. it is so nice to see that other people like this song as much as I do.
Hater, reporting for duty. I personally can't stand this song, but the lyrics are captivating, because well... Scott.. But otherwise, this song annoys me quick, and I have absolutely zero ideas as to why. I love STP.
Could you imagine Layne & Scott doing an acoustic set of both AIC's and STP's songs and Dean and Robert Deleo with Jerry Cantrell and Mike Star? I would like to think if Layne had lived they may have done something like that, you never know, so I guess we'll never. We all hope you're finally at peace.
I remember I had the teenage employee's at the McDonalds I was manager at. Liking me because I listened to these guys. Along with BUSH, Pearl Jam, & all these other "Grunge/Alternative" bands of this time :)
Thank you, Scott and the rest of STP. Thank you for keeping me out of my head at my worst and for keeping me smiling when things were going well. Thank you for showing me the joys of singing. Thank you for blessing the world with your golden baritone voice. Thank you for the many gifts. It's strange. The day you passed away, my life took a turn for the worse. My dear mom died, and I was never lower. But this music along with so many other artists kept me from being stupid and doing foolish things as I watched my once tightly-knit family fall into the abyss. And I'm only here because of how music let's me vent without communication, without even a word. Just emotions being channelled in a raw primal way. Interstate Love Song is one of the greatest hits of all time. It's distinct, timeless, somber and meaningful.
Scott wrote this song probably thinking to himself how great it would be if people were still listening to it after he died. That time has come too soon, but it's true nonetheless. I hope someone leaves roses on his grave on his birthday every year.
Zoeybatterup152 what..? Stone Temple Pilots is one of the icons for grunge, along with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Nirvana. If you don't think STP is grunge, then I'm very interested to hear what you think they are lol
I'm so glad I got to see them play throughout my life. My best moments in life were seeing them play live. My heart goes out to Scott's family and friends. Rest well my good brother.
+Doug Prishpreed You are so lucky. Even back in the day, I think these guys were my favorite, perhaps only surpassed by Nirvana or Pearl Jam (back when they only had one album).
+Doug Prishpreed Just had a looong convo about how STPs was the best band i ever saw live and was one of the best nights of my life...whole croud singing along to Dead and Bloated...amazing
Back when they regrouped in 08 I seen them play two shows in Jersey and two in NY. All of my buddies were siked, it was perfect timing. The pre-gaming in the parking lot was a ton of fun. Everyone around us was cool and were siked as well for the return of stp. We made a lot of friends in the parking lot. Someone even had a bull horn too, I remember doing my best Scott Weiland impression to "Naked Sunday" all drunk lol. We even managed to jump the main gate to the orchestra seating in one of the shows without getting caught!! Great times!!
I'm not sure whether it was this or Plush that I heard first. This is still perhaps, one of your best for me. Especially the part about "Run through the world, think about tomorrow;. RIP, Scott.
Marshall Bott That whole stanza sounds so clear now with the words on screen... don't even remember what I thought he was saying during that part back in the day, but still loved it then and maybe even more now
Im 60 and went through the 70's, 80's and 90's and up to now and The 90's were the best . I have fronted a power trio for the last 6 yrs and we played nothing but STP , AIC , Soundgarden / Cornell , Nirvana , etc. … Core is welded into my CD player in my truck . I loved the power of Grunge . My bassist went deaf last year so im takin a break and recording . He and I were both born in Rawhide Calif and played dive bars in the Sierra Foothills all our lives . Before Karaoke and DJ's It was all about live Rock . Glad I was There , Great times . People were always blown away witnessing guys our age covering this stuff . Of all the genres , styles and decades I played through , This Seattle Grunge was the most fun . So heavy and deep ! I just realized you're a 14 yo young lady . Very cool ! You should have been born in the early 80's so you would have come of age in the 90's . Start singing and playing Guitar now and in a few years you will be the Bad Ass Chick and all your friends will be enthralled when they see you perform . Bring this music back and most of all …. stay away from drugs , they will destroy you , take it all away, and kill you .
Because its about 20x times more expansive to help a new musician launch and public\advertise a new album[$500,00] so they stick to the familiar and repetitive
I have a friend that actually did it. The teacher was entering the class and he started screaming the intro like there was no tomorrow. It was EPIC, i should've recorded it!
The tears just keep pouring out my eyes every song I listen to....from STP to Velvet Revolver to the Wildabouts Mr. Weiland I'll miss your perfect voice. One thing on my bucket list I'll never get to cross off is seeing you live
R.I.P Scott Weiland when on the radio just abruptly after playing Big Bang Baby since i didn't hear the previous convo it hit me like a bus when i found out he died.
This song brings back memories. A group of us would go to Charlotte Motor Speedway twice a year with a sweet infield spot. We would set up and get the (large) stereo cranking. Dead and bloated was always the first song to let rip to let our friends and neighbors know... Pittsburgh is here...
It's only took me 2 hours to find the song and I found it !!!😁 I've type in every artist I could of .. to drowning pool .. to godsmack.. I was like "well let try this" but I doubt.. sure enough it was!!!😁 Cuz keep playing in my head was "I am" over and over ...it was driving me crazy... Lol ..but I am glad I found it !😁
This song is straight bad ass, knock you on the ground POWER!! If you listen to this classic, and don't get a major adrenaline rush... there is no hope for you
That feeling when two excellent riffs you haven't heard in awhile are in your head and you already hear the second one come on immediately when the first song starts.

Just perfect. The beginning of this song literally pops into my head at least twice a month. Rocks so damn hard
Hard to believe that the 1st song off their 1st album would be one of their best! RIP Weiland

+jacob galindo I cant blame him, if hes tripping he would mess up the songs. though he shouldn't be doing drugs in the first place

Hell yes! Loved the 90's. Fun to the max and none of this ultra-sensitive social bullshit.
STP is one of the greatest bands ever

Interstate Love Song is one of the greatest hits of all time. It's distinct, timeless, somber and meaningful.
0:54 love that layered vocal part, almost like Alice in chains style harmonies, thats what makes grunge so good, the vocals styles and lyrics.
My absolute favorite part of the song too !
Scott wrote this song probably thinking to himself how great it would be if people were still listening to it after he died. That time has come too soon, but it's true nonetheless. I hope someone leaves roses on his grave on his birthday every year.
