Great vid, as ever Barbara! I love your fave fives - always discover wonderful things. Yeah, the sweater is ALOT, lol. Just a note in case anyone wants to know; this one isn't a hi-low peplum, just a regular flare after increasing stitches. I think it looks like it's hiking a bit in the front bc I told Aeva to lift her shoulders and fling out her arms to show the hem and cuffs! Keep the great content coming, friend!
Thank you so much for clarifying the peplum design and distinguishing between standard peplum and hig/low peplum. I am constantly saying that I am neither a garment designer or knitter and it's for reasons like this. I have some but not expert level understanding of garment construction. I'll leave that to amazing designers like you and stick to the cheering squad LOL!
As of right now I have no plan to discontinue this series. It took a break during the Ravelry accessibility era but I figured out a work around. You can find the playlist (currently at 47 videos) here: ua-cam.com/video/9KqrcdsCLR0/v-deo.html if you want to watch more.
I enjoyed this video. I substitute a different cast on for a lot of my projects. My favorite motto is “a pattern is only a suggestion”. Love your talks
Wow, I want to cast 2 of those on right away! Thanks! Why yes, I can watch my iPad and search ravelry patterns on my phone simultaneously (said to all non crafters everywhere lol)
The yarn for the first one is very unique. It’s not a spun yarn but strands running in parallel and then sprayed with a rayon film to hold them together till washed. So you are working with a stiff and crunchy texture that softens upon washing, according to the yarns website. Would be a fun yarn to run through your swatch lab especially seeing the before and after blocking.
I’m not sure if I’ve already asked this or not, but I would love to see a fab five garments using both knitting and crochet. I am great at knitting, but also good at crochet. I want to improve my skills however, generally don’t like crocheted garments. This is why I i’ not sure if I’ve already asked this or not, but I would love to see a fab five garments using both knitting and crochet. I am great at knitting, but also good at crochet. I want to improve my skills however, generally don’t like crocheted garments. This is why I have chosen to make patterns that combine both. So far, I have made the Ariana cardigan and am in the middle of making the prairie skies pullover. I found one other pattern which utilizes crocheted lace around the neck and stocking stitch for the body. Would love to find more.

1. I love your top, it's so cute! and 2. Leaflet is STUNNING that went right into the favorites
hmmm maybe that would be a good pattern to practice lace since I have, um, struggled with lace in the past lol
It's actually a dress, thank you! And I adore Leaflet ... I think that came through LOL?
It might be!
I love them all. Thank you.
Glad you like them!

Woo Hoo for multi-tasking LOL. I am so glad you liked a couple of my picks. And thank you for supporting indie designers.
This should really be a reoccurring fave five each quarter. Would be fun to see the looks published each season.
I don't know that I can do that with my attention span, but I will keep it in mind that this bears repeating!
Another great Fave Five. You duve into the details is always informative and 5 items is just right!
I am so glad you like this video series. I think if I did more than 5 the video would get waaaay too long LOL.
Love your Fav Five series! Have found many new to me designs watching this series. Thanks!
So glad because that's totally my goal with these!
Love that shirt! Very flattering.
Thank you, it's actually a dress!

That is an excellent idea for a Swatch Lab. I will see if I can find where I can buy some of her yarn.

I have saved this comment and will ponder it. I'm not sure how to find these sorts of patterns but I will see.
Thank you for a very informative video 🙌
All these patterns are amazing. I’ll definitely check them out.
I hope at least one makes for some knitting fun for you!
Love the addition of yarn substitutions and thinking about how thick the yarn is (yards per grams)
You know, it's what popped into my head LOL
