I just got a cricut and the vinyl that comes with it is having a hard time sticking to the tape and then transferring to the windshields. Is there a certain vinyl brand and tape you know for sure won't give me a struggle. My logo has a lot of fine lines, and letters.
OK I have tried soooo many transfer tapes and HATE them all so far!! honestly I have only found that GLAD press and seal works the best for sticking and releasing. Can you recommend one of yours that has the same type of light stickyness but will grip just enough and release for my vehicle decals? I have a VERY important order due ASAP and I want the decals to look professional and easy for them to apply themselves since they are shipping some to family out of state. (they are memorial decals for an infant) This project means ALOT to me and I haven't even met this client in person, The father is active military 16.5 years and the fact that they recently lost a child just hit me hard. I want this job I am doing for them to look excellent!!! They LOVE the decals I designed, I just need them to work for them to apply. Please let me know a recommendation. ALSO....I'm not making a profit off this order I am only charging them for my supplies, it's just one of those jobs I felt I needed to do from the heart for someone that has done so much for serving our country.
I love the paper transfer tape. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape-rolls.html I find it the easiest to work with. This is a good universal tape and works great with most vinyls. The only type I have hear it doesn't work well with is the Cricut brand glitter vinyl. That comes with its own transfer tape. What type of vinyl are you using?
The temperature of the surface and vinyl has also have an impact on the application result. I would NOT recommend heating up, but if you are applying on to vehicle in cold conditions it may be more tricky.
I sometimes use vinyl on wood pieces but when I use regular transfer tape, sometimes it pulls paint off (if I painted the wood piece or it came painted). Would the paper one be the one to use in this application?
My girlfriend and I stumbled across your youtube page about a month ago and I must say that we have learned more watching you all then we have learned in the last year watching other people. I just want to say thank you for all the great information you all give. Now I have a question would we be able to use either of these two sheets as a carrier sheet for rhinestones to be used with our heat press?
Thank you for your comment, we're so glad to have been able to help! To answer your question, no, unfortunately both of these types of transfer tape are only intended for use with adhesive vinyl, and are not compatible with heat. We do sell Rhinestone Transfer Tape that's made by Silhouette on our website however, you can find it here: expressionsvinyl.com/rhinestone-transfer-tape.html. Thanks for watching!!
Hello, great information. Did you say paper transfer tape was better for water (a light spray of water for use on cars / windows), or do I need water at all? I have not purchased vinyl yet.
I’m having issues with my transfer tape that I use kit yours that won’t grab the vinyl. My force is only 10 and the blade depth 1 and a lot of the time it won’t grab sometiems it will been having issues with detailed decals to and I sel so it been really hard for me please help
Which type of transfer tape do you have the most success with when using metallic permanent adhesive vinyl? I’m having issues with tackiness being left on my decals. Thanks!
I would guess that any of our tapes should work great (as long as it has a smooth finish). My favorite is either the clear (medium tack) or the paper (low tack) expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
Hi, Andrea! We have a few adhesive vinyl options that might give you the holographic look you're going for. Check them out at the links below: expressionsvinyl.com/permanent-adhesive-vinyl/metal-look/ expressionsvinyl.com/adhesive-vinyl/permanent-adhesive-vinyl/opal-vinyl/ We also have some heat transfer (iron-on) vinyl options as well: expressionsvinyl.com/siser-heat-transfer-vinyl/holographic/ Hope this helps!
Do you have a recommendation on how to store transfer tape that you want to reuse? I have a roll so there is no backing. I usually put it right back on the backing when I am done. Thanks in advance for your help!!
All of the different types we carry will work great and we use. If you are layering a lot then you would want to use the clear. if you are ok with layering and need something for canvas, wood, glass, etc the Paper is pretty versatile that way. Here is a link to the different ones we carry - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
I am trying to transfer my vinyl decal to a PAPER bulletin board. What kind of transfer or paper tape do I use so the transfer/paper tape doesn't stick to the bulletin board and rip it?
Hello! I'm currently working with inkjet print outs for heat press transfers and I'm in need of a transfer tape for free floating words and objects. Will this tape resist the heat from the heat press? Thank you in advance! Great video.
Hi Joe, You will not want to use this for heat transfer. This is just for adhesive vinyl, It will not withstand heat and you'll have a gooey mess. You will want to use a product called Easy Mask. This isn't something we carry but you should be able to find some online. Good luck!
Heat press machine I will use for heat press vinyl roll/ sheet (adhesive carrier) that have For weeding and custom made stencils. What heat press paper roll/ paper help make it easy for me to make the design and cut?
My wife and i just started to make our own vinyl, but the transfer tape that we use peels off and only sticks to the lettering, what can we do to help it?????
Thank you for clearing that up. Ok quick question. I've been using Cricut brand transfer tape. Recently I watched a video that says for regular vinyl to use standard grip and for glitter vinyl to use strong grip. For this vinyl does this rule apply or is it one grip fits all apply?
The vinyl purchased on our website works best with medium tack transfer tape. High tack transfer tape is not recommended for any of the vinyl purchased from us. Thank you!
It will depend on the wrapping paper and the transfer tape. Our paper transfer tape may work best for this, or something with a lighter tack. Try a test on the wrapping paper you will be using.
If you are using a brand of htv that does not come with a carrier/transfer sheet already attached to the top, it is likely that a special Heat transfer tape will be required.
No, the paper transfer tape is not made for heat transfer vinyl. It's intended use is for adhesive vinyl. Most heat transfer vinyl already has 'transfer tape' (the carrier sheet) on it.
This transfer tape in for adhesive vinyl. It is not recommended for heat applications. Inkjet printable can be damaged when used with transfer tapes. They are best hand placed.
Therese, I love the paper transfer tape! expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape-rolls.html I will link a video where you can see it in action with the reverse weeding. ua-cam.com/video/BB13CenT_kQ/v-deo.html
I am having issues with the vinyl not wanting to come off on the transfer tape I am using Oracle 651 and Oracle clear tape what am i doing wrong or do i need to use another type tape thanks
You might want to use a different transfer tape if that is happening. Any of our transfer tapes will work great with 651 expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
Ok so I bought the roll of clear and my customers and I are having a hard time getting the vinyl to release from the tape. And the vinyl is actually ripping. Can you suggest something to me or maybe we are doing something wrong? Thank you.
The clear transfer tape can be tricky. I think climate has a lot to do with its performance. If it is ripping your vinyl it has too high of a "tack". If you purchased from us we would be happy to exchange it for you. It seems people either love the clear or hate the clear. :) I've never had problems with the paper. I would suggest trying that.
question when I Use the transfer tape on card stock it pulls up a layer of my card stock when removing the transfer tape what transfer tape should I use
Any transfer tape you get from us will work great for this project (as long as the wood has been sanded down and has a smooth finish). I personally would prefer the clear (medium tack) or the paper (low tack) for this kind of project. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
In your video, you show 6" rolls of CLEAR transfer tape. However, when I go to your website, I can only find 6" rolls of PAPER and OPAQUE" transfer tape. I'm confused! Is the clear tape really opaque? Love your videos!
What works for intricate designs. Sometimes i have a hard time getting tiny or thin pieces of vinyl to transfer. A high tack transfer tape ? Im using the regular cricut one
For intricate designs, you don't want too high of a tack or that may not allow it to transfer either. The surface can have a lot of impact on how the vinyl and transfer tape react. It can also depend on the vinyl you are using as well.
I am looking for a Transfer Tape that you can use for Heat Transfer. I'm doing a t-shirt design with Heat Transfer Vinyl and I want to be able to transfer the vinyl all at once instead of peeling each letter individually. Which transfer tape can I use?
what kind of transfer tape is good for cardboard paper boxes....I Used strong grip and quickly realized that was a bad idea as its so difficult to remove. Are there less sticky ones available?
I used a Siser brand light XFR tape on a 6MIL - Exterior Premium Matte Adhesive Vinyl logo for an interior door. When the design was applied on the door, the XFR tape was not releasing the vinyl and trying to get it to stick on the door it was removing the top coat of the vinyl away. Any thoughts on what would work better? I had to go to 6MIL because the 2.5 MIL was not working for smaller letters and weeding. thank you!
It sounds like the Transfer Tape that you were using has too high of a tack to it. All of the Transfer Tape that we carry has a Medium Tack, it sounds like something with less tack would work better for you!
Hi Christine, it's really up to personal preference. If you will be doing a lot of layering then you would want one of the clear transfer tapes. Here is a link to both of those - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/clear/. If you want to try the wet application method then you would need to use the paper. Here is a link to that - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/paper/. Here is the link to an example of wet application - ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=_mUHQXpqivk
Hey, I am selling and using Flag Union (The Star Pattern) and I have noticed that using a medium tack plastic transfer tape it is very difficult to remove it from the vinyl 651, the vinyl sticks well to the wood surface. Suggestions please for both situations, retailing the stencil and using the stencil? Thanks.
If you are using Expressions Vinyl transfer tape and find it is too tacky, I would recommend using the paper tape because it is low tack expressionsvinyl.com/paper-transfer-tape-roll/
Hi there, what do you recommend for tackiness. I seem to have trouble with transfer tape and paper that are too sticky. They cling too tightly to the vinyl. Thanks
Hi Bruce, what type of vinyl and what type of transfer tape are you using? We have a lot of success with the paper transfer tape that we carry and really recommend it. Also, what types of surfaces are you applying it to? Sometimes it is the surface that the vinyl doesn't want to stick on. So it may seem like it is the transfer tape not releasing the vinyl but instead its the vinyl not wanting to stick to the surface. Please let us know. We'd be happy to assist further. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/paper/
Any of the sheets or rolls that are 12 inch wide. If you use transfer tape often, we have 12 inch by 100 feet rolls that would work great! expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
Hi, unfortunately not. If you are wanting to use vinyl for fabric, etc then you will want to use vinyl that is specifically designed for that. Here is a link to the heat transfer vinyl that we carry - expressionsvinyl.com/heat-transfer-vinyl/
I am trying to find a tape that will give a little so I can use on curved surfaces. I saw a video on youtube but cannot for the life of me find it again and it spoke about paper transfer tape I think. Whatever the kind of tape they spoke about they showed making various cuts on the sides of the vinyl so that it would be able to bend and adhere to the curved surface. Does this ring a bell, am I remembering correctly and it is paper transfer tape? If so do you by chance have any videos on applying to curved surfaces? Love your videos, they are very helpful, especially for someone who is new and clueless like myself. Thank you
Beth, I don't remember us having a video like you are describing. We do have a few videos, however, on applying vinyl onto curved surfaces. ua-cam.com/video/QqNTptry4iM/v-deo.html
Hi, can you recommend a transfer tape that has a colored backing for white vinyl designs to "show up" I am packaging them to sell, and I need for the design to show up.....thank you!
For vinyl decals how much if any difference is there to working with the clear HIGH tack compared to paper MED tack? Say for decals with around 1/4 lettering.
Joe, That will depend on the type of vinyl you are using and what you are putting it on. MED tack works great for most jobs. The HIGH tack is great when working with vinyls that have a textured glitter, etc. ps. Our adhesive glitters are not textured so MED tack works great.
Will any picture transfer to clear transfer tape? I've never used this but I have used sticky vinyl paper. Unfortunately, I do not have a cutting machine and my hand cutting is terrible! So I just want something that will peel off and just leave the design etc. not the sticky vinyl. Thank you
The transfer tape is to transfer adhesive vinyl from the backing sheet to the project you are wanting to put it on. We unfortunately do not know if it will work the way you are wanting to use it.
Our Paper transfer tape works great with our permanent and/or removeable vinyl. Test in a discrete location! expressionsvinyl.com/paper-transfer-tape-roll/
I've tried all different transfer tapes. I'm now thinking it's more of a "cheaper" vinyl that i'm having a hard time getting the vinyl letting off the transfer tape? Thought?!
Hi Renee, the vinyl does make a difference as well as what you are applying it to. Sometime the bod between the vinyl and the transfer tape is stronger than the bond between the vinyl and the surface you are applying it to., Have you tried it on other surfaces?
The temperature of the surface and vinyl has also have an impact on the application result. I would not recommend heating up, but if you are applying to vehicle in cold conditions it may be more tricky.
I got on your site and cannot not find transfer paper on a roll, even though this video with jessica is showing two sizes on a roll, so where can I buy the transfer paper on a roll?
What type of transfer tape do you recommend for adhesive foil? I used the Cricut transfer tape on my paper bag, and as I was peeling it off, it ripped my bag. Please advise.
Hi, several of us here prefer the paper transfer tape. It works great when using cardstock or paper bags as well. Here is a link to it - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/paper/
I'm trying to put apply vinyl to a 36 inch balloon and the transfer tape I'm using is super sticky. It keeps popping the balloon. Do you have a transfer tape strong enough to pick up the vinyl and not stick to the balloon? Thank you.
Hi Shawn, we have had a lot of success with the paper transfer tape. It works on a variety of surfaces and isn't extremely sticky. Here is the link to it - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/paper/
Hi, we are using a self healing cutting mat. This one was purchased off of Amazon but you can find them at your local craft store as well. Hopefully this helps.
hi i have had trouble in the past with transfer tape making decals for people. The trouble I've had is the transfer tape not releasing the decal. The decals have had to be thrown out, and also I've had to use a goo gone product once the decal was applied finally applied to remove the transfer tape residue. Will this transfer tape be as aggressive? Does it matter how long the transfer tape sits on the decal until applied? (it wasn't the extra strong transfer tape i used, it was regular cricut brand) i also have a paper transfer tape I've tried but it almost has the opposite effect. It releases the decals but when I'm trying to apply the transfer tape to the decal the transfer tape almost repels from the decal backing. i have to actually use scotch tape to tape them together . Oh the horror! Thanks! :) P.S. i am using Oracal 651
Hi Christine, there are so many different types of transfer tape out there and they will all work a little different. They should not be leaving a residue on the vinyl and it should be easy to remove. We have a couple of favorites around here that we like to use. One is the paper which can be found at this link - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/paper/ And the other is the Gridlined which would help with alignment. It can be found here - expressionsvinyl.com/gridlined-clear-transfer-tape-12x30-roll/
@@Expressionsvinyls I bought reflective vinyl rolls and it doesn’t look like they have htv masking im almost 100 percent sure they don’t but on the website it said it can be used for clothing so what do I do since there is no masking on the reflective vinyl I bought ? I’m trying to use for my clothing line hoodie designs please respond ?!!
@@thtskng3986 It sounds like you ordered adhesive vinyl. To apply it to fabric you will need to purchase the reflective HTV. expressionsvinyl.com/easyreflective-12x20-heat-transfer-sheet/
I bought transfer tape on a roll from either Cricket or Silhouette ( I can't remember which) and the vinyl is not coming off it's paper backing. ( The opposite problem of the vinyl not coming off the tape.) Any advice?
Elizabeth, It could be a couple of different problems. If they vinyl isn't coming off the paper backing it may not be cut deep enough or if the backing is coming up with it, it may be cut too deep. If the transfer tape isn't coming off the vinyl it could be the transfer tape is too strong for that type of vinyl. It may also be what you are putting the vinyl on isn't smooth enough. Some types of paint will actually resist vinyl making it very hard to apply.
Hi Khloe, we have what's called a multi use paper that works great to place the heat transfer vinyl on to after you have done all the weeding and are wanting it to ship some place. The nice thing about the heat transfer vinyl that we carry is the fact that the carrier sheet is part of it. You do not need to add anything additional to place it on your fabric/tshirt to transfer. Here is a link to the multi use paper - expressionsvinyl.com/multi-use-paper-12x20-sheet/ Here is a link to our Heat Transfer Vinyl - expressionsvinyl.com/heat-transfer-vinyl/
Hi Holly, it really depends on the surface you are applying the vinyl to. We do a lot with the paper transfer tape and gridlined. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
You do not need transfer tape with our heat transfer vinyl. The carrier sheet acts as built in transfer tape. This transfer tape we are talking about is for adhesive vinyls.
Hi, I'm an online seller, i ship vinyls all over the world. I roll the decals with the transfer tape before i ship it out. I have complains on the transfer tape having bumps and parts of it seperated from the vinyl. Does this happen to paper transfer tapes too or it is just the quality of my tape? Will your transfer tape have this problem too if it's rolled up with matte decals(Oracal 651). Btw i'm using a brandless clear transfer tape. Thank you!!
Hi David, there could be a lot of different reasons this could be happening. If it is a lower tack transfer tape then it will pull up off the vinyl. If you are rolling the decals up to ship when they receive them and press them flat they will show gaps and bubbles in the vinyl. The weather and where/how it is shipped will cause an impact to it as well. We have done a lot with the paper and haven't seen it do this type of thing. It is always worth a try. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/paper/
Hi, for car decals we recommend Permanent Adhesive Vinyl. With that, any of the different types of transfer tape will work. To make it a little easier to see for layering or placement, I'd go with the clear - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
Can I cut a design on transfer tape and use it as a stencil for painting? I’m thinking I could use a mat with my Silhouette Cameo for this but haven’t tried it yet.
Hi Casey, yes you could cut through your transfer tape and use it as a stencil if you wanted to. You would want to do test cuts to make sure you get it the correct setting. Also, you would probably want to use the kind that already has a backing on it and place it on a mat like you would a sheet of vinyl. Otherwise you would have difficulty removing it from the mat. Let us know if you try that. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
In this video you talk of 2 different types of transfer tape. Paper and Clear. However, while trying to order...there are 3 options, Paper, Opaque, and Clear. I want the paper tape shown in this video. Which is which on your website. please help!
So sorry we missed this Jennifer. You can always contact our customer service team through our website if you need help quickly. They are available during normal business hours. You would want to choose the paper option. The opaque will be similar to the clear but it has a texture to it.
IM having the worst time transferring my projects. I use the cricut transfer tape and its almost as if its too sticky. when they do apply its like the top layer of ink comes off the vinyl. its really frustrating, any ideas please help!!
Hi, what are you trying to apply your project to? The surface cans have a lot of impact on how the vinyl and transfer tape react. If the vinyl isn't sticking very well to the original surface then you will have a hard time removing the transfer tape, especially the cricut brand which tends to be a lot stickier than most. Have you tried other brands? Our paper transfer tape works great on a variety of different surfaces and releases the vinyl great. Here is a link to it - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/paper/
Hi Vicky, If it is glitter from us I use the paper transfer tape. It works great! Do you know what kind of glitter it is? The Cricut glitter vinyl does need a different kind, It usually comes with it.
Thank you! It is Circuit glitter and used the transfer tape that came with it but it was hit or miss at times on different items. Forget using it on canvas, Didn't work well at all. I will try your glitter vinyl when I order again. Thanks again for answering.
The wet application method can be used to apply adhesive vinyl to glass. This allows you to adjust the vinyl placement before the adhesive takes effect.
Elaine, Are you using the cricut brand of glitter vinyl? If so it comes with strong transfer tape. Use that but flip it over (so the transfer tape is on top and the vinyl is on the counter) and peel the transfer tape from the vinyl.
Funny thing...this is the exact reason why i searched your videos. I have cricut glitter vinyl and using the transfer tape it came with. Also purchased an additional roll. It does not work AT ALL. I had to manually apply my decal but I am getting frustrated with this intricate design i have now
Tigea Benton I had the same issue which is why I found that you have to squeege your craft as many times as possible applying as much force as possible to get that glitter to stick onto your stronghold transfer tape. If your craft, as you're peeling it up looks like it's not coming off try the squeege some more.
For the majority of heat transfer vinyls, you do not need any transfer tape. The clear carrier sheet that comes over the top of the vinyl will work as a "transfer tape" of sorts. Once you remove the excess vinyl (weed your design), the carrier sheet will have the tacky part exposed which will keep your design in place on the fabric while pressing. Hope that helps clarify!
Hi, in this video we use the different types of transfer tape that we have on cardstock. Hopefully it helps. Our favorite for that is probably paper transfer tape. ua-cam.com/video/L97k2zDQL5Y/v-deo.html You can find the paper transfer tape here - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/paper/
What would you recommend for 631 vinyl? I got some of the clear and it is SUPER hard to get the vinyl off the tape....are there different "levels" of stickiness?
There are different levels of "stickiness" but both of the tapes we carry are a medium tack adhesive. However, with that being said, there are also other variables that can come into play. We have found that the clear transfer tape seems to be more susceptible to issues in extremely hot or humid climates, making the adhesive tackier, and causing issues with releasing. Personally, the majority of us here at Expressions Vinyl tend to enjoy the paper transfer tape over the clear tapes 9 times out of 10.
I have the SAME problem! I'm in South Florida. Humid AND hot! Go figure! I find myself sticking it to my shirt before I use it to help remove some of the "stickiness" still super sticky though.. going to give the paper a try to see if that helps.
I would definitely recommend the paper transfer tape, especially if you are finding the clear too sticky. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/transfer-tape-rolls.html
Hi Penny, we're sorry to hear that. Will you please email us at support@expressionsvinyl.com with a few more details on what is happening. We'd be happy to assist you. Let us know what you are trying to apply it to and what is happening.
The transfer tape rolls do not have a backing sheet on them. The transfer tape sheets have a none stick backing sheet on them so that you are able to take it off and apply it to your vinyl.
@@Expressionsvinyls I understand. I have transfer paper that looks like masking tape, I've never had any issues before, I also have Siser clear with grid and a roll of Silhouette. I cut my vinyl, apply tape, use my plastic squeegee. My vinyl is not sticking to tape and when it does the paper backing on the decal is being left behind. I'm at a loss as to why and what I'm doing wrong or not doing. Also, have you tried all the different types of transfer tape that you have and are all doing the same thing? Let us know.
Hi, this transfer tape that we are showing here is meant for adhesive vinyl. It is not meant for heat transfer vinyl. The printable heat transfer vinyl that we carry does not require a transfer sheet. Here is a link to it - expressionsvinyl.com/8-5x11-inkjet-printable-htv-for-light-and-dark-fabrics/
hi, I just went to your website and it seems that you no longer have 12 x 100 yd anymore just 12 x 30ft this was just posted a few weeks ago I'm sad now.
Eileen it must have been out of stock at the time. It is something we have all the time. It is listed as opaque. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/transfer-tape-rolls.html
Hi, any of our transfer tapes will work with 631. Some of them work differently depending on the surface you are adding it to. What type of surface are you placing it on?
Wet application is when you are adhering vinyl to something like glass or a car and you lightly wet the vinyl with water before applying. This gives you time to get the vinyl in just the right spot. Then you squeegee out the water before peeling off your transfer tape. Here's a link to another video we have on it - ua-cam.com/video/-PkF9UDx64U/v-deo.html
Is this as sticky as the cricut transfer tape (I hope not, the cricut transfer tape keeps ruining my projects). Has anyone used both and can give a comparisson
We have heard that this is not as sticky as the Cricut Transfer Tape. However, it does depend on what you are pitting you vinyl on. At times its the surface itself rather than the transfer tape that is the issue. If your vinyl doesn't stick to the surface then it is harder to get it to release from the transfer tape. We suggest trying a couple of different kinds on the surfaces that you will be using the most and see what works best for you. Here is a link to our transfer tape - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
Expressions Vinyl I ended up buying your transfer tape and was amazed with the difference! Was so impressed with you guys I am already a silver EV member (in like a week)
Hi Joe, all of them will work with outdoor vinyl. It will depend more on what you are applying it to. We tend to lean towards the paper for things like that. Hopefully that helps. Here is a link to the paper transfer tape as well - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/paper/

Any of our transfer tapes would work well. Check out some of our popular options from clear to paper! expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/

Yes, the transfer tape will lift the cut vinyl off of the white backing.

Do you have a recommendation on how to store transfer tape that you want to reuse? I have a roll so there is no backing. I usually put it right back on the backing when I am done. Thanks in advance for your help!!
Many customers often use the adhesive backing to store transfer paper for reuse.
Do you prefer one transfer tape over the other. I'm a newbie and have done mostly smaller projects. I've used the cricut transfer tape.

Good luck!

Thank you!

If you are using a brand of htv that does not come with a carrier/transfer sheet already attached to the top, it is likely that a special Heat transfer tape will be required.

These transfer tapes are for adhesive vinyl. We unfortunately do not carry any for Heat Transfers.
All of our transfer tape runs about medium tack and may be too tacky for use with cardstock.
What do you recommend for 651 and applying it to wooden signs? Thanks!
Any transfer tape you get from us will work great for this project (as long as the wood has been sanded down and has a smooth finish). I personally would prefer the clear (medium tack) or the paper (low tack) for this kind of project. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
Hi did you try one of these transfer tapes on your wood signs I am looking for one?
In your video, you show 6" rolls of CLEAR transfer tape. However, when I go to your website, I can only find 6" rolls of PAPER and OPAQUE" transfer tape. I'm confused! Is the clear tape really opaque?
Love your videos!
Yes the opaque is "clear" when its all rolled up together it doesn't look very clear. Hence the opaque term.
I love your videos I just got my new Cricut and I’m learning a lot from you guys thanks.
We unfortunately do not carry the masking for HTV, as all of the HTV that we sell already has a carrier sheet on it.
what kind of transfer tape is good for cardboard paper boxes....I Used strong grip and quickly realized that was a bad idea as its so difficult to remove. Are there less sticky ones available?
We haven't had issues with any of the transfer tapes that we carry on cardboard. The ones that we have are Medium to High tack.
What works best for putting permanent vinyl on paper back books w/o it ripping the paper on the book
All of the Transfer Tape that we carry has a Medium Tack, it sounds like something with less tack would work better for you!
which one is better for everyday stuff? what do you mean by wet project ?
Hi Christine, it's really up to personal preference. If you will be doing a lot of layering then you would want one of the clear transfer tapes.
What size roll do u suggest if you are doing 12x12 designs ?

I am trying to figure out if using a heat transfer tape will allow me to use regular vinyl as an iron on
Hi, unfortunately not.
Thank you

Hi, can you recommend a transfer tape that has a colored backing for white vinyl designs to "show up" I am packaging them to sell, and I need for the design to show up.....thank you!
Our transfer tape won't have a colored backing. It either won't have a backing or the backing will be white.
I did not see the clear transfer tape that is 6" by 100yards.... i ordered the 6' by 100ft
@@ExpressionsvinylsVinyl thank you, I didn't think so but no harm in asking.

looking for transfer tape to apply vinyl to a painted or wood wall....

Thanks so much! i will try it!
What cutting mat are you using here? The tape sticks too well to mine. Thanks!
Hi, we are using a self healing cutting mat. This one was purchased off of Amazon but you can find them at your local craft store as well. Hopefully this helps.
Can we use Oratape mt95 medium tack for wall decals or will it peel off the paint?
Yes you would be able to use it on a wall with no issues.
@@Expressionsvinyls Thank you
hi i have had trouble in the past with transfer tape making decals for people. Thanks! :)
P.S. i am using Oracal 651

What do you use for heat transfer vinyl when selling
Hi Khloe, we have what's called a multi use paper that works great to place the heat transfer vinyl on to after you have done all the weeding and are wanting it to ship some place. The nice thing about the heat transfer vinyl that we carry is the fact that the carrier sheet is part of it. You do not need to add anything additional to place it on your fabric/tshirt to transfer.
Here is a link to the multi use paper - expressionsvinyl.com/multi-use-paper-12x20-sheet/
Here is a link to our Heat Transfer Vinyl - expressionsvinyl.com/heat-transfer-vinyl/
What is the best transfer tape for removable vinyl?
Hi Holly, it really depends on the surface you are applying the vinyl to. We do a lot with the paper transfer tape and gridlined. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
Sorry I have limited idea about htv and heat transfer in general, what's the purpose of transfer tape? Is it different from carrier sheet?
You do not need transfer tape with our heat transfer vinyl. The carrier sheet acts as built in transfer tape. This transfer tape we are talking about is for adhesive vinyls.
Got it. thank you!
You're very welcome!
It is always worth a try. expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/paper/
which is best for car decals?

Thank you for posting this! I am still struggling with the glitter vinyl and cannot seem to get anything to work. What do you recommend?
Hi Vicky, If it is glitter from us I use the paper transfer tape. It works great! Do you know what kind of glitter it is? The Cricut glitter vinyl does need a different kind, It usually comes with it.
Thank you! It is Circuit glitter and used the transfer tape that came with it but it was hit or miss at times on different items. Forget using it on canvas, Didn't work well at all. I will try your glitter vinyl when I order again. Thanks again for answering.
For the paper vinyl you said its used more for a "wet application", what do you mean by that? noobie here!
The wet application method can be used to apply adhesive vinyl to glass. This allows you to adjust the vinyl placement before the adhesive takes effect.
Thank you for the videos, answering several of my questions about vinyl. You are pretty good with that box cutter....lol
What do you use to get glitter vinyl on your transfer paper? I can't seem to find anything that works. what am i doing wrong?
If your craft, as you're peeling it up looks like it's not coming off try the squeege some more.
omg I just asked in a fb group about transfer tape . I know the normal one with 651 but what do I use for HTV
Does the clear work well with holographic vinyl?
Yes, the clear works well with the holographic adhesive vinyl that we carry.

John,
Which transfer tape and vinyl are you using, did you purchase it from us?
No. It's the Cricut transfer tape from Ben Franklin's in Hawaii.
@@johnnykealoha10 it may be the transfer tape is too tacky for the type of vinyl you have. You may need to find a transfer tape that has a lower tack.
That makes total sense. We're in a super "wet" climate. Thanks for the input.:-)
I have the SAME problem! I'm in South Florida. Humid AND hot! Go figure! I find myself sticking it to my shirt before I use it to help remove some of the "stickiness" still super sticky though.. going to give the paper a try to see if that helps.

Expressions Vinyl I ended up buying your transfer tape and was amazed with the difference! Was so impressed with you guys I am already a silver EV member (in like a week)
Which one do you recommend for use with outdoor vinyl?
Hi Joe, all of them will work with outdoor vinyl. It will depend more on what you are applying it to. We tend to lean towards the paper for things like that. Hopefully that helps. Here is a link to the paper transfer tape as well - expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/paper/
The paper transfer tape is also go for outdoor vinyl it just rolls up
What outdoor vinyl are you using? Are you using the paper transfer tape we carry?
Expressions Vinyl yes
You didn't name the brand or brands of the transfer tape. Can you name the brand or brands please?
Here is where you can get this transfer tape :) expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
@@Expressionsvinyls I was already on that website ready to buy but there's no brand name. I like to check out reviews before making online purchases. Thanks anyway.
Hi, I have three layers of vinyl and I wanted to use transfer tape to lift each part of the design onto one piece of tape then heat press that on to a t-shirt, is this possible with this tape? Cheers
Our transfer tape is not compatible with heat transfer vinyl. All or our heat transfer vinyl comes with a carrier sheet already on it.
