    Nick, another great video from a jealous Hammer. With regard to the south stand roof, solar panels need to be cooled. As a recent owner of roof panels I was surprised to discover they can overheat if not well ventilated. Could be what you see in todays video is to allow air behind the panels

    South stand roof is bigger than the North, so more has been done.
    Thanks for zooming in on the west stand dock and for the info.

    Hi Nick, todays video with the comments about being in hospital couldn't he more appropriate as I was rushed into the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Kings Lynn on Sunday night having had a heart attack and now waiting to be transferred to Papworth in Cambridge possibly tomorrow, so catching up on your videos is a good distraction as the other guys said have said. Being stuck over here in Norfolk I don't get back to the Pool much so your videos have kept in touch with the development of the new stadium. Keep it going over the summer.
    Ian Herbert.

    I think it's a walkway being laid on the south stand roof and that the solar PV panels will be placed between the panels. This will enable the panels to be cleaned on a regular basis to maintain maximum performance.

    Smart videos as usual Nick. Wanted to point out two things:
    The south stand roof is absolutely bigger than the north stand, not the angle, so more barrel cladding has gone on at the south east corner than at north east.
    I agree with all the comments about the
    Club/Laing O’Rourke offering you a tour but disagree with you that there’s no point unless you can video and share it. Firstly, you deserve it for all the sound video work you’ve done to keep us all updated. Secondly, even without video, a tour would enable you to be even more informative in your voiceovers as you’d be able to relate what you are seeing from the sky to what you’d seen on your tour, so not a total loss for us mere mortals!
    Coffee incoming, enjoy mate!

    Nick, as for the digging down at the West edge of the Lower Promenade, you can see that they have gone down to an area of hard-standing, whether bedrock or previously concreted and that they had installed a stairway down into the 'pit'. As oyur insider stated, I'd expect the 'floor' to be sealed with waterproofing concrete but also the West Wall of the Lower Promenade with the Seacant Wall finish.

    You are right they have done more barrel cladding from the south to the east. The south roof is wider than the north roof, so the appearance of the cladding to the expansion gaps is technically to the same point. It is however wider to this point from the south to east than it is north to east. Cheers for the video :-)

    Nick, the structures on the South Roof are additional walkways. You can see they are clearly the same construct as the walkway sections elsewhere.
    These additional short stretches of E-to-W walkways were not on the planned drawings but then as I haven't been able to get hold of any detailed specs or drawings for the Solar Array, I can't but guess what may happen.
    The original designs showed on the South Roof only the same 3 mirror-imaged walkways as on the North Roof.
    It's possible that the walkways have fixings that will allow the Solar Array panels to be clipped in between them,. If the Solar Panels were to be fixed to the roof material itself, it would be odd to fit the walkways first as that would make it awkward for the contractors to get in between.
    A counter-argument might be that fitting the walkways first allows the roof material to be more protected when fitting the Solar Panels, or it could even be that those stretches of walkway are temporary for the fit, although I think this the least likely of options.
    We shall have to watch closely for further clues.

    Hiya. Regarding the terracing towards the water, this was piled right at the start of the build. It’s clearly seen if you go back. It’s already been piled against the foundation of the stadium so all they will do now is dig out, line and seal it then and allow the water back 👍 no need to go to bedrock

    It’s a great stadium, and most importantly the seats are near the pitch nothing kills an atmosphere in a stadium when the crowd are so far back it’s just not the same, and the fact Everton are hosting some of the games from 2028 euros is a very proud moment as our new stadium will be a prominent powerhouse in stadiums. One last thing Everton really need someone to get a hold of merchandising for Everton, we need strong commitment to merchandise sales.

      Michael: Hard-core rouble? So, that's where FM and Usmanov hid their money! Sorry, just a funny typo. Yes, they will be digging out the pitch area in due course. I think the delay on starting it might just be because they're still using the pitch for roof material/equipment storage and the crane that lifts it up. I guess that's why they're trying to get a wriggle on with the remainder of the East Stand and then also the South Stand Solar Array. The EFC Official Website video had claimed that work on the pitch would start in May. That schedule is starting to look unlikely, assuming they didn't mean just the ducts around the perimeter, which was completed several weeks ago.

      James: This is NOT a pop at you. You're not the first to ask this Q in the last few months now and I've answered it quite a few times, which is a little frustrating,so I'll copy-and-paste the answer below here . . . .
      "I'm going to write the short answer here as I've written a longer version numerous times in the last month or so in relation to the difference in colour-toning of the Standing-seam roof: The Standing-seam roof material is naturally-anodised aluminium. What that means is that it's manufactured aluminium that is allowed to react with whatever, naturally. In simple terms aluminium will adsorb oxygen from the air to produce a layer of Aluminium Oxide (Al2 O3) on the surface, which has a slightly different colour and opacity to pure aluminium. When it's produced in sheets they're rolled up in reels, which means that the surface is not exposed to air, and the reels are produced at different times, meaning the Aluminium has had different lengths of time for exposure. Therefore, over time, it will all naturally even out to be the same colour and degree of 'matt' finish. Because that will happen, it's NOT actually of significant importance to keep all the same aged reels adjacent to each other. It's only droners who will capture that differential just now but it'll merge before the stadium is used, even though no one will be any the wiser on the ground or using the stadium.
      I hope that satisfies your curiosity."

    how can they dig down to bedrock ? i thought they'd filled the dock in with reclaimed sand ?

    • @DuncTheBlue1878
      @DuncTheBlue1878 24 дні тому

      Personally, I’d be surprised if they were digging down to bedrock. There’s 9 metres of sand infill. Beneath that, there’s about 1 metre of dock silt, and then the sandstone bedrock.

      @@DuncTheBlue1878 You can see they have dug down to some sort of hard layer adjacent to the front edge of the Lower Promenade, whether sandstone or concrete inserted previously.

    Just noticed the dinges and hollows in the south stand roll form roof caused by the idiots laying it walking on the strips after laying . That metal is quite thin and the fitters should know better than to walk down the weak points . If I’d paid for it they’d be taking it off and re laying

      Bobby: to me they look like walkways between where the panels will sit. They are definitely absolutely the same construct as the walkways all over the rest of the rooves. Now, it MIGHT be that those walkways are constructed in such a way that panels can be attached to them, in the gaps between them rather than the Solar Panels needing extra attachments, so we will have to wait and see about that. I do NOT think it likely that solar panels will be fitted ON the walkways. I have failed to find detailed design drawings or specs for the Solar Array.

    I did say the stadium would not be ready for next season and I was lambasted by some fans, but what’s the point of rushing into a stadium that still needs work and never mind the parking.

    • @davidbadcock2225
      @davidbadcock2225 24 дні тому

      Gloomy: lambasted only by those with little experience or ability to read detail properly, I'd say. It was always "some point in 2024" and it was just most people and non-EFC journalists ASSUMING that meant before the start of the 2024 season. Covid, the War in Ukraine and the consequential inflation spike meant costs quickly ballooned and the extra funding took time to position, so DEC 2024 was always the most likely part of 2024. I think the decision and announcement back in Autumn 2023 to wait until the start of the 2025 season for starting football matches there was sensible and much more likely to effuse an air of control.
