You're right about me ordering my 60d and2 60x's.. however they have been on backorder for a couple months now. 60d is set for mid July and 60d will be available mid August.
There are several places that have them in stock. I am guessing you ordered from B&H or another large place. Give Hot Rod Cameras a call.
@@ScottBalkum Ha, yeah you called it. BH is correct. All in good time, though. Either way still excited and always appreciate your wisdom and input!
I love B&H. They are a great company. But, everyone loves them too. They get an overwhelming number of orders for gear. People end up waiting a long time.

As far as comparing this to the big brother, if I had money for both setups what do you see the 60+mini brings that is better or unique that the bigger one fails at. Of course besides the fact that I would need to buy both lens for the bigger spotlight.
Think of the mini zoom as an accent sized light. When you want to throw a splash of texture in a smaller area, or just provide a little streak across your actors eyes. Each has their place. The mini zoom is capable but it can’t compete with the brightness of the 300D or X.
@@ScottBalkum would you say on the lower settings the big spotlight can do everything that the mini can do. Or just because of the size you can’t get as fine tune of a light?
@@evan_stellmach in theory yes. But there is a higher sharpness with the mini zoom over the spotlight.
If it can be used with 120d or 300d then it would be a better value. Otherwise there’s a lot of similar gobo fixture options for 1/3 its price
Yea it can’t be used in those. Basically they built a zoom camera lens. Just like on cameras, an S35 lens can’t be used in a full frame sensor. Same here. It was designed to be used in the led emitter sized with the 60D. They already make one for the 300d.
@@ScottBalkum My problem is the 30degree ! I got the 36degree spotlight and I rarely need to get closer for a narrower beam(I got the iris and it not installed yet), I most often need to get further, but then, that mean you can't have as much restriction in the path of that beam.
Cowboy Scott seemed taller than cooking Scott.
I think he is.
I would use it the way God uses his spot light to give people signs.
