It's free and effective so do try it. Hope you found this useful!

As a former photojournalist who still has all his pro-gear but is sick and tired and too old to drag it all around and has resorted to using cellphone lenses and binos and telescopes for a newer and lightweight experience- this is awesome dude! No shame in elastics!! Ive done many a thing to get a shot when I used SLRs and ppl laughed, however, I got the shot and they didnt sooooo...
Whatever works and gets you the shot is what works.
Keep up the great work and thank you for the tip - it will be utilized and soon!
Sir, will this technique create background blurs as we see in DSLR photos?
I used this trick on a spotting scope, after some adjustments it really worked 😊😊😊
Hey Jack, I am sharing this with you because of your love of photography. It simply makes your smartphone like a mini - binoculars.
Fantastic. Such clear and concise instructions. Just what I was looking for. Thank you.
Great to hear!
LOL I'll feel silly if anyone spots me with binoculars banded to my smartphone - *but* this is clever and I'm curious to try it out. Thanks Justin!! (this is my first visit to your channel. I hope your YT channel gets more exposure because you provide good information but with the added benefit of having a charismatic personality. 😊 Thank you for these videos)
Thanks for your kind words! :)
@@birdingoutdoorsif your work is getting done so no need to worry about rest of the people what they will say
Hide the rubber bands... easy peasy... 1. seperate your smart phone from the protective case.
2. Now attach the case using the rubber bands as demonstrated, onto your binoculars.
3. Place your phone back into the case.
Rubber bands will not block your screen & your phone is safely held in place.
4. Now with your phone camera turned on & the binocular lens covers removed, Adjust your phone lens over the right or left binocular eye piece for a clear view on your camera screen.
5. Adjust your camera zoom to your liking & enjoy.
brilliant, very useful. Thanks mate
Wow that is smart! But my problem is im camera is not in the middle.
😂😂😂
This is so obvious a trick that I now feel like an idiot 😂👍🏻 Thanks for the simple but effective solution.

Nice. I have found that adding a Bluetooth shutter release-around $10 USD on Amazon-is very helpful.
Great! I'll try that out myself. Do you have a link for that?
Give the link...

You’re a smart guy! 🎉 🙏🏻
Smart idea ! I've been trying with adapters over one eyepiece... never worked well. Did not think of covering both eyepiece! thanks
Holy crap it works ! .
I was searching to see if it was possible .
I have some great views from house and phone Zoom, isn't that great.
You are right about a tripod it would help.
So many thanks, I shall now buy more asparagus for the rubber bands.
Thank you, I hope this works for the lunar eclipse tomorrow as well. 🤞🏻

Good. Job😅
Awesome idea will try it out on the eclipse later
Rubber bands are still a form of a holder. Plus, they may not keep the camera lens exactly over the eyepiece.
Priceless !!!! Thankyou.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for this tip.
Thanks
Thanks very informative
Clever idea - thank you
You’re welcome 😊
I think this is brilliant, does it work with the newer smart phones with 3 lenses?
For newer smart phones with three cameras you need to multiply the amount of elastic bands in this tutorial by three. 2 x 3 = 6 elastic bands 🤗
my camera is on the side though.... it keeps falling to the right side
Brilliant‼️‼️‼️‼️
Creative
thank you!
what a great idea
How is there a random goshawk just right in the yard?? Please explain
Exactly!! It was awesome that it randomly showed up outside 😆 my lucky day
Plastic zip ties from the Dollar Store also work well and you only need to use one.
Good job!
Will any pair of binoculars work.?
good idea,
Thank you! Cheers!
COOL !
i think this only works when the camera is at the center. My phone's camera is at the top left so it is difficult.
Clever hack
Too bad it only works for phones with cameras on the center of the smartphone...cameras on corners are rough to center with this technique. =(
Awesome...Show snap shots you have taken..❤
The thumbnail is a picture I took of the goshawk using this method!
But you have added texts and image to thumbnail...its not clearly visible...

From what I see it's a pretty good image !
His hands are more stable than large cap funds.

This is the Celestron Nature DX 8x42 Binoculars. I put a link in the video description.

damn phone near eye will give me cancer or cataracts
Came here to learn a trick on how to use a smart phone for pics through binos, but learned nothing because there’s no smart phone in this video, just an android.
