Azadirachtin actually has a systemic and prolonged effect it you water the soil with it. The roots will absorb the toxin and kill off pests as they feed off of the sap. A botanist I know told me about this years ago and recently I found a paper online that had measured the systemic effect over time. It has to be applied regularly to achieve the desired level of toxin in the plant, but it can definitely be used as a preventative measure as well as a treatment when used as a soil drench
You can also purchase Neem seed meal and make a Neem tea with it. Neem seed meal is the byproduct left over after making neem oil. You steep it for 1-3 days and then water your plants with it.
Of course, we want to see other things under the microsope. That's a loaded question 😂. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on Neem Oil and the recommended frequency. I have been using Neem Oil for a while but only do it once every week or two by spray. May up the frequency and try the dunking method. Thanks for posting.
You said to spray neem twice a week....how long do you so this? I've had a huge mite infestation in my grow room, can't seem to get a handle on it. Thx
Hi, I've been using ecogarden brand which is a super concentrate of neem oil. I've noticed it seems to work a little better than regular neem and also doesn't leave any sticky oil. Have you used this product? Any thoughts on that brand.
Hi there-I’ve never used that brand. What are the active ingredients? It needs to contain azadirachtin in it. I like the 1.5-3% active ingredient amounts
@Pretty in Green I just read the label it has n%40 Azadirachtin..%1.2 Made from Neemazal Technical (Purest Azadirachtin technical of highest concentration N40% in the world) I have not seen any negative side effects with it on any plants. It can be applied foliar or systemic by drench. I have not attempted the drench method though. Still on fence. I like your grow room set up alot. It's very similar to mine. Ill have to post a video sometime. Thanks for the advice on your videos. I've found some very helpful.
I bought captain jacks concentrate neem oil which says it’s 70% neem oil. Would that be considered 3%? Have you heard good things about captain jacks neem? Thanks
