What issues did you run into with your harvest Right and also what is the price comparison between both companies?

I bought the Stay Fresh 7 tray freeze dryer. I am having problems with it in more ways than one. First, the pads that warm the trays stinks terribly. At first I thought it might be the glue that binds them to the bottoms of the trays but no, it’s the material of the pads themselves. It makes the food taste like the pads smell. Not good !!! I have run the freeze dryer with a high heat setting for the trays 3 times without food in hopes that it would cause a reduction of the horrible smell. So far it hasn’t worked.
Another problem is that the freeze dryer is causing the electrical receptacle to blow its breaker randomly. Also not a good thing.
If anyone knows a way to rid the heat pads of the horrible smell I would sure appreciate knowing how. I have spoken to Tim and he promised to get this issue resolved. He said to run 4 cycles and put water in the trays. I will see if this helps. If not he said he will send a different rack that has different heater pads.
Thanks to Tim at Stay Fresh for his help.

I have a Harvest Right have it for three years now first year it was no problem worked like a champ. Then after that I just had problem after problem. They sold me another pump that I didn’t need. I sent it back after using it one time still haven’t got my money back from it and that was five months ago. We have over $4500 in this machine and stuff that we bought from them and I can’t get it to work I am so fed up with them I could just scream. Get the runaround all the time and no solution.😫

I'm sorry you've had a poor experience, I've had my own frustrations but the machine has still done the job I've needed it to. If you want to take a look at the Stay Fresh machine, here's their website: stayfreshfreezedry.com?sca_ref=3292008.4uBi4MIG3W

Thank you we may end up just going to stay fresh. But I kind of wonder if they have their problems too it’s a lot of money to put out on a machine and then you can’t get the customer service you need

I've never seen a lot of high reviews on the stay fresh.... So far haven't even seen anyone actually having one or using one..... And if course you won't be able to do more than 16 pounds of food, it's the max listed for the large. Why would you expect to be able to do more? I've had a large HR since 2016, no issues and I just upgraded to the xl, which will do up to 32 pounds of food.... Longest run with pineapple and cantaloupe has been 50 hours.

My plan is to sell one of my Large Harvest Right's to get the XL, just not quite ready. I want to try a different machine which wasn't available up until a year ago and I think the technology is better for making sure product is dry on the Stay Fresh from what I've spoken to the owner (Tim) about his machine. There are sensors on each tray rack instead of just one in the Harvest Right that is for the entire chamber. Harvest Right is now saying the Large can do 16-23 lbs of food which I don't see how that's possible. I've only been able to run about 14-15 lbs and it takes more than 48 hours to dry so getting the Stay Fresh at 12 lbs maybe 13 lbs is a wash in my opinion. If it can dry faster which I'll know once I get the machine then it's a win-win. Thank you for watching the video and support my channel, I really appreciate everyone that takes the time to comment.

Looking to get started, do you prefer stay fresh or blue alpine ? And is it worth getting the larger pumps
    Thanks

Here are several freeze-dryers I use in my business and I would recommend considering them for your existing freeze-dried business or just starting out.
      - Harvest Right Freeze Dryers - affiliates.harvestright.com/1974.html. I like the Harvest Right Large to start out and then you can advance to the XL if you have enough business coming in.
      - StayFresh Freeze Dry - stayfreshfreezedry.com/?sca_ref=3292008.4uBi4MIG3W&sca_source=UA-cam. I've liked the freezing speed and dry times of this machine. It's a little larger than the Harvest Right Medium but you can do 12-13 pounds of food in it which is only a few pounds less than the Harvest Right Large capacity. Even though Harvest Right says up to 23 pounds that's not possible in my experience, especially with fruit.
Blue Alpine Freeze Dryers could be another alternative to purchase for your business, I do not own one of these freeze dryer currently so I don't have any direct experience with the machine:

Did you compare or look at the Cube?

I did and it’s just too small for what I’m looking to do with the business and the price is not as reasonable in my opinion. I do like that they have an app for the machine which I think all of the manufacturers need to implement

Those of you considering buying a Harvest Right….DON’T!!!!! It’s a purchase you will most likely regret. I’ve been saying for years that they need competition. Im excited to look into StayFresh

    • @freezedriedbusiness

I’d give Harvest Right still 4 out of 5 stars, I’ve had issues just like everyone else but have also ran them 24/7 for three years and haven’t had to replace any major parts yet. The reason I bought the Stay Fresh is I want some of the new technology and a machine that has a more concrete way of measuring dryness of the food.

@@freezedriedbusiness fair enough. I’ve had problem after problem with my HR and my biggest issue was their tech support. Absolutely worthless. That’s a complaint I think anyone who has had to repair their own machine will understand. I am curious to see how StayFresh compares in a warmer environment. My HR won’t run if the ambient temp is over 75-80 degrees. It throws a code and sits idle. If StayFresh can truly run still in a warm garage then I’ll sell my HR and buy SF because I do most of my processing during summer

What do u think stay fresh's customer support service will be like? If u cant get a harvest right technician to your house (im in Canada so this is literally impossible) i just found a really good appliance repair guy, and he can fix pretty much anything on it, it is after all basically a freezer, and an oven@@caseycasey621
