  • Dear Edmond
    A film by Amit Goren
I have been filming since the age of 13 using stills, Super-8 and video. I observe and capture the moment out of a need to inquire, to understand, to preserve. At age 45 my partner and I begin fertility treatments that lead to our confinement at home with a high risk pregnancy of triplets. I film our daily routine, and from our balcony, life on Rothschild Boulevard, the heart of the first Hebrew city, where Tel Aviv was born in 1909; where the first triplets of the boulevard are expected. Our situation leads to questions about financial capabilities, careers and relationship alongside issues of identity, memory, history and nostalgia. Memories are documented, characters are revealed and a narrative about the past and the present on the boulevard begins to unfold. For those living there and crossing it on a regular basis, the boulevard is a neighborhood meeting point, where one can reflect about the passing of time and consider a new life as parents of triplets.

"Amit Goren, a wonderfully talented filmmaker, succeeds in captivating his audience from the first minutes of the film, engaging them with the characters and with the landscapes of his life, and you identify, laugh out loud with pleasure, follow with curiosity and stay fascinated until 'the end' appears on the screen. A huge talent."
