I stayed in Ikebukero recently on my first trip to Japan. It was amazing. Very nice vibes and places to get food. Marts are endless and walking in the streets feels extremely relaxing. Then there are the tons of stores and activities near the subway entrance. It was convenient going to any of the big name cities in Tokyo from there. Free city wifi too. On top of all of that we met some locals at a small karaoke bar and they showed us a great time. Even bought us all a round of tequila.
I went to Japan last month. However, I haven’t have any chance to go Ikebukuro. A local Japanese told me that this place actually sells more thing about anime culture than Akihabara. If I could go back to Japan again, I would like to go Ikebukoro as well.
The SEIBU depato food floor is amazing. They also have a roof garden. Also check out the Seria dollar store in OIOI. A great MOS Burger is on the same street as the TMT on the east side. Also check out A Happy Pancake.
Nothing slaps harder than the taiko game. I want one in my house haha. I miss ikebukuro so much. I lived off rikkyo-dori for 6 months and I want to go back more than anything in the world
That's the Neko Cafe I went to in 2016. Had a very relaxing time in there. I could of fallen asleep in there. ^_^ Only been to Ikebukuro once, definitely have to go there several times during my next trip.
4:11 Your way of praying is probably a shrine or a way of praying for Shinto. This is a temple of Buddhism, so it is okay to pray for the temple praying hands together.
can i please tag along on your videos....? haha i want to see japan so badly, but ive heard it's expensive too. i want to see shibuya, ikebukuro, hokkaido, kyoto., tokyo..
I lived there for almost 5 years....surprised you didn’t check out the kaiten (revolving) sushi bar near sunshine dori. There used to be an African restaurant there, but I think it closed down years ago.
Great video! Most places in Ikebukuro understand if you only speak english? I'm thinking on living there for my student exchange but I wonder if I'll find trouble with the language. Hope you can answer me. ;)
I will be a 1st time traveler to Tokyo with my daughter. Do you recommend this area to stay in? If not, which area is best? We like shopping, cafes, and traditional experiences. Be safe!
We definitely recommend this area to stay in! You have many things to do in Ikebukuro and it's also well linked by transportation, so no worries! It's a good choice 😉
I have a group of friends who always ask me why I want to meet in Ikebukuro. Cause it simply kicks ass. Great video, it was interesting to see you interact with all these places, but would have liked to know you more as a person and see you interacting with stuff vs. going around and just telling me about places. I know it's a very fine line to walk between vlog and educational video. Over the pacing, cinematography, editing and especially quality of audio/video was really good for this bro. Subbed, liked and commented. Make more and I'll give you a shout out on my shizzle eventually^^ Keep it up.
After slowly coming out of covid I now have 2 more kids . Financial burden plus the fear of covid. I wish that one day I will be able to walk on the street of Tokyo
Hi Nur, I know you left your comment years ago but I wonder if you've ever been to Ayam-ya Ramen near Shin-Okachimachi station? It's 5 minutes walk but also close to Ueno station. It's chicken-based ramen and supposed to be DELICIOUS. And it's halal. If you've been, can you tell me if it's "all that"? I drool looking at the pictures, ha. ;)
I went into this video knowing exactly what to expect in the comment section
