    Thanks for the upload of flying United back in the 90s. A loyal United Airlines frequent flyer back in 90s. Via United, I visited Asia frequently. Many former PanAm crews flying the pacific routes acquired by United. I truly enjoyed the professionalism and enthusiasm of all the United employees. Thanks for great memories of flying United Airlines.

    Looked great back then, I remember as a kid flying in the late 80s and 90s. Was fortunate to fly to the US from Manchester England via Toronto and got to fly with USAir DC-9 and once with Delta when they launched Manchester in 1991 to Cleveland via Atlanta and it was on a brand new 767-300 back then , ATL to CLE was 737-200 but only drinks service on that flight. Got to fly United to SFO from LHR on a brand new 777 in 2000 and United served free alcohol back then and the food was quite nice too

    They will definitely not allow her to remain unaccounted for since she confirmed that she was starving but didn't meet up with him or answer her phone. Security measures will remain unwritten by me, but I can write that he wouldn't ( especially as the purser ) just go out to dinner and forget all about her until pick-up the next day. No way and not these days.

    • @jpeood32
      @jpeood32 5 років тому +2

      I have been through a 3 training centers, Braniff, in Dallas, Continental in Houston and Denver and UAL in Chicago. I know, that's a lot, lol I have to tell you that I would rather got to training in Houston any day, especially in the winter. Howver Denver is a great summer place for training as well. When I went thought training for CAL, they had just merged with Texas International Airlines, We had DC-9 training in HOU and DC-10 training in Denver. It was fun. My training for United in 1986 was of course ORD and it was January. A very miserable winter.....

      FA's are trained in IAH and FO's are trained in DEN. Why don't they use the ORD training center? Because Smisek wanted the hub to be IAH... employee protections are worse in IAH than ORD. We still have the training center in ORD ... maybe one day

    From Maintenance point of view United Stews not Continental Flight Attendants have attitudes, they Leave there bags in the middle of the Isles in the way of maintenance and the Pilots ( trip hazard) they think they know more about how the Aircraft works than someone who is licensed to maintain the Aircraft and when we are done working on the Aircraft we sign the Maintenance Release , So , the Plane cannot takeoff until we sign off. The flight attendants are not license but carry a certification that only takes 4-5 weeks to obtain. I don’t know how many times , usually the older Stews that complain that something in the cabin like the volume control at a passenger seat is in-op? When I tried to explain that Airbus A320s sound system starts at zero volume unlike the sound system of a Boeing Plane that starts off low, but you can hear sound the Stew replied I am qualified on this Plane I have 15 years with Company ! They reply , “I Know how it works “! But when you try to explain it they huff and walk off the Plane. I have 30 years with the Company , Not all Stews are like this but I could right a book about their behavior.
