$36 isn't to be sniffed at. If you lived somewhere not particularly 'clean' you could potentially make a living from collecting and returning empty cans and bottles, though having said that, such places would probably pay less for each item.
Certainly isn’t something tosniff at - i make big bucks on returning the returnables. The 2 IKEA bags were all discarded returnables, only the clear bag had containers that were consumed at the base - the rest were in trashes at my place of tuition.
