Mastering Patience: The Key to Successful Mountain Turkey Hunting

- If you're an experienced turkey hunter who is familiar with birds in mountainous terrain (or any terrain for that matter), you know the importance of PATIENCE. If you're new to the game, you need to learn it real quick! Come along with me in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia as I do my best to remain patient with gobblers that only sound off a few times on the limb & ALWAYS seem to be on the opposite ridge! If you want to be successful in the mountains, the key is to realize that sometimes it's a bit of a marathon, not a sprint.

As always a great time with ya Chad. Tough birds in some ridiculous country.
I appreciate ya watching!
Enjoyed following along again Chad. So true the importance of "patience". In today`s fast paced world, diligent patience can be difficult but in the turkey`s woods, it can be the key to success.
It's good to chase 'em, even on those hard days. Enjoy your videos, Chad. Keep them coming.
I really enjoy your videos. Because you show that you don't always succeed. Which is real turkey hunting
I've always wanted to show all the UPS & DOWNS of a REAL turkey season. I appreciate ya watching!
If I didn’t know better, I’d say you were hunting these South Alabama birds!
Nice hunt Chad, even though the birds weren’t cooperating. You know where they are and sooner or later you’ll connect. That’s a pretty piece of woods you’re hunting. Just being out there and hearing some birds gobble is a good way to spend a morning. Thanks for sharing.
Thank YOU again for watching Matt! I can't even put into words how grateful I am just to be out there.
I just listened to a podcast you were on thought I’d give your channel a look out of all the videos across UA-cam yours are definitely in the top I really enjoy how you show how tough it can be day after day instead of just when it works out you show all aspects of the hunt we need more people like you making videos really really enjoying the content man thank you for the videos!
I appreciate that Isaac! I've always wanted to show all the aspects of a REAL turkey season. There are SO many ups & downs. Thanks for watching!
Finally got around to watching this one, you really put in some effort in WV there.
Appreciate ya watching Strydet!
Them days are tough but that's why we love the time in the woods. Great hunt hang in there
Where did you get your camo cap at ? Good hunt Chad
Great video. It can be like that here in pa. After 40 plus years of turkey hunting I'm heading to WV. This spring. Good luck to all.
Exciting to watch even if no trigger is pulled.. I’d love to see some claycomb merchandise available some day.
My second season and I'm still getting my ass kicked, but having a blast!!!
I've been chasing turkeys for 37 years & still get mine kicked! It's how you learn & the day I stop learning is the day I quit. Thanks for watching Sloan!
Oh West Virginia! Isn't a much better-looking place to be at fly down than on top of some of those ridges down there.
Yep, hung in there with you! Noticed you are calling from your diaphragm, something new for you ? Been watching for a while and hadn't picked up on it till lately
I've always "huffed" on a call (even when running my own calls). But since running these Gulvas calls, I guess it's a little more noticeable. Thanks for watching!
@@claycomboutdooorsI personally liked the sound of the old call much better!
Call them on the roost. Your killing me 😂
Getting hyped up.
I like turkey that's hanging off your rear view mirror where do you get one??
I looked all over last year trying to find that thing online.
Dave Constantine. He's an amazing artist/wood carver. His order info for those is on his Constantine Productions fb page. Thanks for watching Tony!
Are you using a different call?
I would bet he is using a Denny Gulvas style of call
He calling sounds very different than other videos
Different from previous years? Yes sir (kind of). I've been doing some things the last few years on Gulvas calls. But up until 2023, I was still yelping on my own calls. Now I'm pretty much running Gulvas calls exclusively. Thanks for watching!
@@claycomboutdooorsYea - per my other posted comment, I don’t like the sound of these calls at all! 😬
Instead of West By God Virginia. Its West Bye Gone Virginia
