Love your reaction. I’m glad you got your reaction to this longer video that showed the surprise from his Dad and their sweet interaction after. It further showed how loved and support Dimash had in his father. Yes, Dimash was a baby, relatively. He was only 2/ years old old at that time and his first time away from his family for a long time in China where he did know the language. He only went with an interpreter to help him. He was homesick. That why he said he wanted to go home. He asked his father if he did well. He was always looking for his father’s approval. His father is his biggest role model. His father is a very upstanding gentleman who raised Dimash to be the same. Credit to his father and their family who had a huge part in raising Dimash. Only love and respect for Dimash. ❤😊

This was only his second performance on "Singer" season 5, and it was the first time he'd been completely away from his family in a foreign country for any length of time. He'd been feeling homesick and was concerned that he wasn't going to continue being received well by the Chinese audience in the competition. He didn't speak the language and though several of the other contestants speak at least conversational English he was still only able to say a few words (mostly to introduce himself and a few pleasantries). His father, Kenat, came to support him but didn't want to make him nervous for the performance so stayed out of sight. The double-take when he sees his dad kills me every time, and when he says "I want to go home" my heart breaks. It's such a beautiful and sweet example of their relationship and how Dimash's greatest joy is to make his family proud.
One of the things that I find adorable about this whole performance is that he later said he was embarrassed that he had been so flirty with the audience with his father watching! I'm glad Kenat had the foresight to not let his presence ben known until after because the flirty aspect of Dimash's delivery really adds to the entire performance!

they are highly righteous Muslims and they do not want Dimas to even appear to be doing things that are wrong. No women until marriage, no alcohol, no smoking.
Dimash is kind, giving and honors others.
His grandfather died just a couple of weeks ago and it is a hard blow for Dimash.
It's my understanding that Vitas, the original Russian singer, sued the competition, not Dimash, for covering his song without permission and that Dimash is not allowed to sing it again. I've watch both and Dimash crushes it! 😍
If he had sued and won I dont think we would be watching this. He may get monetary compensation tho. I had read that he simply asked Dimash not to sing it again and Dimash has complied. Mark

Opera 2 is a showpiece for Russian male singers. Usually they go up once or twice with the "wind howling" Dimash knocks it out of the park. His relationship with is dad is so cool.
