Alice Scott is a jeweler, metalsmith, and painter from Asheville, NC. She derives inspiration from a multitude of spiritual and cultural traditions, borrowing and blending their symbols seamlessly into her own realm of sacred objects. During her residency at Azule, Alice took a pause from her bustling studio in Asheville's River Arts District to focus on another passion: painting.
Alice created large watercolor paintings by drawing from the natural world of plants and animism, including some Mugwort plants she found at Azule. These paintings are designed to "bridge the gap between jewelry and painting," using the same shapes and motifs as her jewelry.
