I'm a grandparent and pretty handy but the instructions that came with the seat to convert it for a a larger child are totally incomprehensible. After 20 minutes I gave up and found this brilliant video. Job done within 7 minutes. The mystery is how you ever fathomed out how to do it yourself!! Very grateful for the time and trouble you took to make this. Thank you. Britax should hang its head in shame.
OMG, I just washed the cover and spent the last 30 minutes trying to figure out how to fix those f**king elastic bands on the side of the back cover. Was looking for hooks all over the place. Didn’t realize they were for the future use. Thank you so much for the video!
Thanks for taking time to do this clip. I just don't find the Britax manuals clear at all and I use manuals daily at work. Such a faff but this was very helpful thank you.
Was given one of this that used ti belong to a now 9 year old to a 18 month old... Watching this video... I reversed it to fit all the harnesses and I'd like to say a massive THANK YOU honestly. Can't wait to put it in the car and take my niece out 🚙😍
Really helpful video. Taught me more in few minutes than reading the manual to do even the easiest of things like adjusting the harness. Thank you for taking your time to upload this. 👍
Thank you so much for this video it helped a lot. I was thinking to buy a booster soon for my, girl she's 5 yo, but then I remember that this holds kids to 36 kg . So I look up on UA-cam and found you. 💖
Oh my gosh thank you so much! I was pulling my hair our trying to do this with the instructions. You helped me do it first time in five minutes! Thank you so much. Don't forget to monetise this video as no ad came up when I played it! X
Hi, I'm so glad it helped! I don't monetise UA-cam (you have to have over 1000 subscribers I think) but I don't do it for the money anyway, just glad it helps :)
Fits perfectly rear-facing in our truck, which has a slightly smaller back seats. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx6_FKRYB2ClSPRyjcd8HptiCS3EiQoNX4 Feels as comfy and plush as our Graco Contender carseat.
Saint Kat of the Car Seats! May the blessings of this Grandfather be bestowed upon you. The Britax instructions were a non starter - even with powerful spectacles and a magnifying glass. At least my Grandson is unlikely to shrink back down to fit the 5 point again! Time to neuter my Son in Law...😂😂😂
Great video. Very easy to follow each step. I was wondering how to get the head piece to elongate for a tall 4 yr old, removing the harness releases it. Thanks for your help 👍
Hello, Thank you for the comment! Once you have removed the harness, there is a grey handle at the back of the headrest, squeeze that, and pull the headrest upwards
Great Video! But works only for isofix variant? In non-isofix variant the car belt needs to be used to fix the child seat, so no way to use the non-isofix variant for kids above 15kg?
Hi, This video applies to both versions of the seat - the installation and use for each one: Evolva belt fit only: 9-18kg: child secured with harness. Seat installed with adult 3 point seatbelt. 15-36kg: child secured with adult belt. The seat is not secured prior to use (the belt goes across both child and car seat securing both) Evolva SL (SL stands for soft latch isofix) 9-18kg: child secured with harness Installation: seatbelt only, or seatbelt AND soft latch isofix. 15-36kg: child secured with seatbelt. Installation: with or without soft latch isofix (adult belt goes across both child and seat) I hope that helps!
@carseatkat thanks, I get it now! Was just thinking how secure it is for group 3 if the seat is not additionally fixed - basically the car seat belt is taking care of both child and securing the seat. But I hope it is secure also for group 3 that way, since I have a non-IsoFix variant (and thinking whether to buy a new one now for group 3)
@@grebuz Hi, when the child is in the car seat it will be secure with belt only and safe to use. The main thing to consider/remember with non ISOFIX high back boosters is that they're loose when the child isn't using it. A non ISOFIX high back booster should always be strapped in when not in use to prevent it becoming a projectile in a crash. Non ISOFIX boosters are absolutely safe - I only use ISOFIX ones because I will not remember to strap it in when my eldest isn't using it!
Really useful video - was able to do the adjustment to a high back booster, and get the covers off and put in the wash. Given this car seat a whole new lease of life! Would like to remove the harness straps as they're no longer needed and also stained - anybody got any advice about how to do this? (other than cut them off)
I’m glad it was helpful! The harness cannot be removed, so it would be a case of cutting the harness out. If you did need a harness at a later date, you may be able to send the seat to Britax for a new one to be installed. A few years ago this could be done for about £40 (not too sure nowadays).
Thanks that is a really helpful video. Do you know if it is safe and legal to use as a high back booster without the isofix, and also in the front seat of a car? Thanks
Thank you! Yes you can use without the isofix in booster mode. For using in the front of your vehicle, you will need to check your car handbook to see if child seats are approved in the front 👍
No, the harness is outgrown at 18kg, which is around 4 years old. Some smaller children will not reach 18kg until they are older, so can continue using the harness - but it is outgrown at 18kg, and must then be used as a high back booster
Doing a better job explaining this process better than the actual company. Thank you for this video

Thank you for the kind comment - I used to work for Britax ;-)
Even Britax itself doesn't cover it. I was devastated until I found your video. Thanks.

Just saved me from ripping all the harnesses out in frustration, THANKS!!
Same here! Thank you so much!

Absolutely fantastic and the most helpful video on this seat, the official manufacturer videos dont even come close to this video. Very grateful
Really helpful video. Taught me more in few minutes than reading the manual to do even the easiest of things like adjusting the harness. Thank you for taking your time to upload this. 👍
You are a life saver. I could not figure it out for the life of me. Pulled the pads off before you warned me through 🙈
So much clearer than the AWFUL written instructions!!! Thank you,
You’ve just saved me a few hours on my day off! Carnage followed after attempting to follow the instructions book. Thank you!
You’re welcome!!
Well, this was super helpful! I've just followed your video and did the changeover in about 10 minutes! Britax should give you a job!
I’m glad you found it helpful 😄

Definitely one of the most useful videos on UA-cam. Thanks.
Really good instructions, saved me a lot of messing around and I would have never of worked it out!
Brilliant video. Very clear instructions. Saved my wife and I a good 30 mins and a potential argument. Many thanks.
Thanks so much for this, the Britax instruction manual was not clear at all and made no sense!
Great clear video, saved me a lot of time. I wish more videos were this good. Well done.
Thank you that’s very kind!

Brilliant video! Thank you so much. The instructions on the manual were horrible but this definitely helped!
Thank you so much for your video! You are either so much more intelligent than me or you work for Brittax! Whichever it is... THANK YOU!
I used to work for Britax 😁
Thanks. Did the straps ages ago but needed to find out how to lift the headrest. Easy when you know how!
Thanks… amazing. That is my Sunday afternoon saved. Brilliant presentation.
Thanks. Tried to build it back from 3 to 5 and almost collapsed before I found your video.
Very helpful also for Britax Multi-tech II and Britax Multi-tech III, these seats are Evolva with rearward racing to 25kg.
You're quite right, and an oversight on my part to miss those out!
Glad to give you the 500th thumbs up ! I was driving crazy converting it with the manual since 1 hour !!
I would not have figured that out all by myself! Thank you.
Thank you so much, much easier to follow than the manual.
Thank you so much. I almost lost my head reading the manual.
Thanks for sharing! Iv literally just spent ages faffing with the straps and wondering what I’m meant to do. So helpful and easy to follow thanks xx

謝謝詳細的說明。
Can the 3 point harness still be used for the older child in the seat until they are 12 years old?
No, the harness is outgrown at 18kg, which is around 4 years old. Some smaller children will not reach 18kg until they are older, so can continue using the harness - but it is outgrown at 18kg, and must then be used as a high back booster

Hi I have been sold this carseat but the straps have been removed completely I'm having a nightmare
Hello,
I’ve just uploaded a video showing how to put the harness back 😊. It should be showing up now x
Thanks a lot!
Merci!!!
That's amazing. So clever but you'd never figure this out on your own😅
