Pal D I think the live one is more impressive due to him playing the piano and rapping but i prefer the original as theres is a hunger and passion in his voice that is rare to come across
Dave at just turned 16 dropped the hardest blackbox session ever recorded, it's never been better in my opinion. The raw passion and pain in his face and eyes is incredibly hard hitting. Absolute gold 🔥🔥
This is one of my favourite videos of yours. First heard this freestyle when I was about 14 and was completely blown away, seeing Dave progress in to the artist and person he is now is so rewarding, that mercury prize brought a tear to my eye. Such an inspiration to young people from London like me "changing the perception of what a UK rapper can be to a wider audience" nailed it, great video. For more Dave I'd recommend JKYL+HYD, Six Paths EP and his FITB.
Dave - my 19th birthday Dave - how i met my ex..... these are both musts Jon , when he was young and extremely emotional , raw talent .... glad to see you doing your own thing
Still my favorite dave song of all time. You can feel all the cropped up emotions coming out. I get goosebumps everytime i hear this. And to think he was 16 back then...
I don’t know if you noticed, but the beat is from Eminem’s song: No apologies. It’s brilliant. Even though I do enjoy you discovering UK rap, I am dying to see you react to Capital STEEZ - Free The Robots. It would be so perfect for your channel and you will definitely enjoy it. Capital STEEZ’s major influence was MF DOOM by the way. Please consider reacting to his music :D
I second this, STEEZ could've have Dave's American cousin. The man was a poet and died way too young, alot of people still sleeping on him and probably always will be. RIP Capital STEEZ.
Glad you did this one one Dave is too good. Kano - trouble is a must aswell just released his new album hoodies all summer and with top boy out guys a legend will always be number one for me.
Authentic, genuine reaction, fucking A1 man. And you should definitely go on a Mini Dave journey. Also, Satish by Tee Grizzley is a must listen it's a tribute to his late aunt who was murdered recently.
Long time rock reacts subscriber and dont know how I missed subscribing to you Jon so apologies for that! So glad you managed to keep it up, always been my favourite reactor, the music hits you different, I relate alot to it Have you heard his blackbox cypher?
If you want to discover UK Rap... you need to go to the 1990's and experience the legendary pioneers of UK Rap. A good start would be "Hijack - Phantom Of The Opera". IMHO the best Hip Hop/RAP group to ever come from the UK. The 1990's had the first golden age of Rap for the UK... We've so much history over here... and so much is missed by these reaction channels. :)
I never thought I'd say this... But I'm kinda happy with how the "RockReacts" break up is going! Jon you're my favourite half of those reactions anyway and grime/drill was a big part of me growing up (28 now), looking forward to the months ahead so much ! Please do some izzie Gibb if you can... Also I've only seen 1 reaction to "Cee Major - Bl@ckbox" would love to see your reaction to that ! He used to do battle rapping with Dont Flop but it's so underrated
You're so right that the Director shouldn't have cut away from his close up at the end. It was pure emotion from Dave and quite poor understanding from the Director to not elongate it therefore allowing the viewer to feel connected to the artist at such a poignant moment.
My god I have been screaming what you were saying at around 4:40 for the longest time ever now, seems like people are just interested in what’s hot nowadays and are not actually doing their research
Yeah I was about to comment Question Time, alot of american reactors cant fully grasp how hard hitting the bars are, because of the UK affairs, like the Greenwich fires. Streatham is a banger, and JKYL & HYDE as well are my favourites. 'How I met my ex' is a good listen for zoning out, man can tell a story.
John, excellent video. This is definitely one the best blackboxes. His first EP Six Paths is well worth a listen. Panic attack in particular is absolutely incredible considering his age. Please react to it.
Great reaction brother, Dave is a great artist, would love you to react to anything off of Kano's hoodies all summer, another absolute masterpiece from Kano also Ghetts has got some great new tracks and Wretch's mummy's boy. Love and blessings brother 🙏❤️
Great reaction! Dave is a genius, my favourite rapper from over here💯 can you please do Avelino ft wretch 32 fire in the booth if you haven't already heard it🙏 also have you watched top boy yet? If not it's a must but start with season 1 and 2 then the new one. It's incredible👍
👌Just realised you already done Wretch and Avelino and I already watched it🤦♀️ another one of my favourites is Mic Reckless/ Mic Righteous- fire in the booth part 4 but all of his songs are amazing. He's definitely worth checking👍
Jon, no, you did not “not make sense” with the Mayan line. I really enjoy your reaction videos because it shows how well read and knowledgeable you are. And it is a breath of fresh air to see people actually getting the lines and them bars hitting properly Keep it up man!
Please react to The Last Cypher from Team Backpack (Chris Rivers, Oswin Benjamin, & Denzil Porter) It is super lyrical and right up your alley. You'll love it! GUARANTEED!
Okay now we’re talking Mr Denton.
He was 16 when he did this. Dave a king
Damn I thought he was 18/19. After Kano and ghetts, Dave is the next goat.
This wasn’t a freestyle this was a political statement by the councillor of Streatham.
React to Dave - Panic Attack
Its honestly one of the best songs ive ever heard
Josh Owens probably my favourite dave track
The liver version is amazing! Plays the piano and raps
Pal D I think the live one is more impressive due to him playing the piano and rapping but i prefer the original as theres is a hunger and passion in his voice that is rare to come across
Josh Owens yeah the live one is when I realised Dave was an elite talent
Going to listen now for the first time
Dave is definitely my favourite in the UK.

Definitely JKYL+HYD first thing of his I heard, knew he was something special straight away.
AJ Tracey packages one of the most legendary freestyles of recent times it’s too good .
Real reaction I felt this 😤
Dave - my 19th birthday Dave - how i met my ex..... these are both musts Jon , when he was young and extremely emotional , raw talent .... glad to see you doing your own thing

Avelino and Wretch Fire in the Booth - one of the best FITB's out there
Chip - Pepper Riddim is a landmark song in grime history, started a massive diss war amongst like 6 artists, definitely worth checking out.
I'm not usually a fan of UK rap, but this guy is on another level. Holy crap, never heard of him before this but I am glad I did! Thanks Jon!

I don’t know if you noticed, but the beat is from Eminem’s song: No apologies. It’s brilliant. Dave truly is the goat, no 2 ways about it. Best in the UK.
The Sailor album by Rich Brian is something you’d definitely like. And I feel doesn’t get brought up enough.
Did you know Dave taught himself to play piano?
Potter payper is on a different level listen to his mixtapes training day 1 and 2
Was praying you and Simon would do this, super happy at least one of you got to it!
