  • Hello everyone! In this Ark video, I'll demonstrate why the Ceratosaurus is fantastic for boss fights in ARK: Survival Ascended. With the Ceratosaurus's Ability: the unique blood explosion ability, they can heal other carnivores, making them invaluable in tough battles. Watch as I take on one of ARK's bosses on The Island, the Broodmother, and see the Ceratosaurus in action.
    This video contains a few different concepts:
    • A Boss Battle Ceratosaurus Guide
    • I show a few ark Tips for ARK Bosses. What to do and what not to do.
    • I demonstrate how to beat the brood mother in 90 seconds.
    I also talk about how having an imprint, mutations and saddles can greatly help with boss fights.
    If you enjoy the video, please like and subscribe for more ARK content. Let's dive in and dominate the bosses of ARK: Survival Ascended!

    So i beat alpha brood easy bring mate pair pigs and 1 yuty the rest Cerators good saddles and they wont ever die constant healing and buffing!

    • @ChaosBearGaming
      @ChaosBearGaming  Місяць тому +1

      Yeah the pigs really make a difference. I got the ceras up to 25 mutations between health and melee. I tried alpha with no pigs today but a pair of rexes for tanking and I lost.
      The broods health was so low you could barely see the green bar. The saddles were mostly 61 armor. I had 3 just above 70. The self healing of the ceras in a group seems to still not outweigh the damage that is dealt to them sadly 😞

      @@ChaosBearGaming Yea there healing is good but they need that extra pump in healing so the pigs worked wonders I put about 200 basic kibble on them so they keep healing and 1 stack of raw meat in Ceras for food buff not a super big buff but always like to have it then all my saddles where only 62-67 armor but yuty constantly roaring with pigs healing and mate boost and imprint all made the fight pretty easy was crazy

      @ChaosBearGaming  Місяць тому +1

      @@kfc6taco743 yeah I kept trying without the pig and it was a no go, but even 1 pig can make the difference and of course better saddles make a huge difference too.

      Yeah brother. Anytime. It would also be good to know if the heal burst stacks… cause if not. You would need to flip it, have a pair of ceras and then the rest rexs.
      Side note: Megatheriums are OP for brood lol you easily would smashed the alpha brood with 17 megatheriums, 2 ceras & 1 Yuti

    That’s not how agro works in ark. It’s all based on closest target. There is no special agro A.I.

    • @ChaosBearGaming
      @ChaosBearGaming  Місяць тому +6

      I heard it before and saw it in a video when I first started Ark many years ago. Just to confirm I looked it up now and it appears to be a thing (according to this post) This was a post I found on Reddit from 192 days ago:
      Aggro is primarily based on a dino's "Base Targeting Desirability". This is something you can't really see outside of looking in the Dev Kit as far as I'm aware.
      Here are some common dino Desirability's (higher means targeted first):
      • Stego: 1.2
      • Theri: 0.8
      • Rex: 1.3
      • Yuty: 1.3
      • Spino: 1.35
      • Megatherium: 1.1
      • Shadowmane: 0.8
      • Reaper: 0.8
      • Magmasaur: 1.35
      • Amarga: 1.35
      • Andrewsarchus: 0.8
      • Mammoth: 1.3
      • Rhino: 1.1
      • Rock Drake: 1.0
      • Cliff Chicken (Deinonychus): 0.8
      With these in mind, if you want to tank damage with a Stego, your DPS dinos should be Theris, Megatheriums (Broodmother), or any of the other dinos below 1.2. Notably you should avoid most of the traditional carnivores like Rexes and Spinos.
      If you want to ride on a Yuty but avoid drawing aggro, you should use Spinos or Magmasaurs (Dragon) instead of Rexes, or just stay farther from the boss than your Rexes.
      There are other combinations, but the key is to choose your tank dino(s) and DPS dinos with the tank having a higher Desirability than the DPS. If you wanna check the Desirability of a dino not on this list, look in that dino's Character_BP in the dev kit, or if you don't feel like downloading a second copy of ARK, message me and I'll check.
      (This info is all for ASE, but I doubt they have changed the Desirability of dinos in ASA yet)
      Me again: So I don’t know if that did transfer over from ASE to ASA now that’s it s been out for a while. But it seems like it certainly was possibly a thing at some point. At least based on this finding. But if you have anything that says otherwise I would be happy that read through it.
      Also I am finding a lot of different articles on this. So it seems like it’s a common discussion in the ark community.

      @@Th1sUsernameIsNotTaken I wasn’t necessarily going for an exact comparison. More just trying to see if the ceratosaurus is a viable option in general with their self healing.
      However, others have compared it to Official, or asked if it worked on official so it may be worth trying to match my settings up with official.
      Thank you pointing that out. I remember the box in ASE was clear as day and I always had it unchecked cause it threw off all my breeding settings.
      I haven’t noticed it for ASA. I will have to go poke around later when I am off work.

      @ChaosBearGaming  Місяць тому

      I think they could easily do the beta, I just messed up the fight. I should have continued to use the courage roar and I should have brought a 2nd rex for a mate boost. Plus they have no imprint or mutations. So with even a little investment and proper planning I think they could do the alpha. I will be testing there out sometime this week.

    • @Th1sUsernameIsNotTaken
      @Th1sUsernameIsNotTaken Місяць тому +2

      They're Wild tamed Ceras with prim saddles. The fact they brought down Beta Brood to 1/6th it's health is impressive.
      Also FYI, people use brood as a base to "stress test" dinos because it hits the hardest with the most consistent DPS. generally speaking anything that can fight brood SHOULD be able to fight other bosses of the same tier.
      Obviously nothing will ever outperform Megatheriums vs Brood.
