thank you for this. Elegy is quite amazing live. Rough Song is one of my favorite tracks of theirs.
Oh wow I could just imagine how incredible they are live! And rough song is great, I love the “shut the door” flow, it’s soo catchy. Thanks for watching :))
Amaaazing track! Somewhere Tonight, Common Girl & The Traveller are my favs at the moment :)
My absolute favorite album from the great Beach House. I've done a few posters for them (I'm an artist) and so I've seen them multiple times... and they've never disappointed. This album is SO underrated, because it was unexpectedly released right after "Depression Cherry" and everybody was still going gaga over that one. This is the one, though. "COMMON GIRL" "ELEGY TO THE VOID," and "THE TRAVELLER" are just next level.
Since you're into BEACH HOUSE... I'm guessing you might like a combination of post-punk and shoe gaze that is "THE CHAMELEONS"... The band can get really dark... but they're absolutely brilliant. Their debut albums "Script Of The Bridge" is one of the greatest debut albums ever. Worth checking out. Cheers!
Oh wow! That’s incredible, and yess I love the 3 tracks you mentioned - especially “Common Girl”. Thanks for the recommendation & comment, I’ll have a look at “The Chameleons” and see what they’re about :))
Criminally underrated! IMO their best album!
Every time I see your reactions on my yt page I get so excited, thank you :)
Also I found it interesting that Beach House sampled the beat for "Common Girl" from "On the Sea"
Thank you so much for the kind words! I appreciate you :) and wow that’s cool! I didn’t realise that sample at first but it definitely felt familiar
Definitely an underrated album but their discography is too stacked 😂 I knew you’d love it tho. 7 coming up, woooo!
Another great video, thanks!! Tyls is definitely underrated, although I do agree it has some songs that feel a bit stagnant.. but that aside, there’s so many beautiful melodies in it:) Prepare yourself for 7 hahaa in my opinion it’s quite different from what they’ve done in the past
You’re getting me excited! lol I look forward to it for sure, tyls had some of my favourite melodies from them, and I feel like it’s only going to get better in 7 :D
Ranks in the lower half of the discography for me but has some amazing tracks scattered in the tracklist.
@@shyuperc self-title has incredible spots, Apple Orchard, Master of None, Saltwater so the highs from the self titled album are higher for me than TYLS
@abongile464 ouu interesting, I’ve gotta revisit the self titled front to back again. Right now I feel like TYLS is slightly better. But Master of None, Auburn and Ivory & Saltwater are all 10/10. You might be right actually lol
This album is super underrated! I wholeheartedly think as a cohesive listening experience, it's a stronger album than Depression Cherry (which everyone seems to love, but I honestly think it is one of their worst albums, which isn't saying much considering their sublime discography.) Absolutely love Rough Song and the Traveller, but there's so many other good tracks on here too. For whatever reason, people view this as the B-Sides for Depression Cherry, but besides Space Song and PPP I honestly see it as the opposite haha. Anyways excited for you to listen to 7, my favorite song of all time is on there...
Yessss I totally agree! Depression Cherry didn’t hit me as hard as this album. Rough Song & The Traveller are both so incredible, and yeah I can’t wait til 7 :’)
Hey man, I have a strong recommendation for you. You should check out One Stop Shop by Twen. I think you'd enjoy it.
We have the same top 3 but I got Bloom at #1. You should react to 3D Country by Geese.
Ouu great taste! Bloom is incredible. And thanks for the recommendation, I’ll have a look!
I love this album, I can't wait for you to do "7"
Love your perspectives :)
Thank youuu! I also can’t wait :)
