For guilliman it wasn’t 10,000 years. He is of a different era, and that failure still stings fresh.

Ohhhh that first moment the Ultramarines arrive at Terra NEEDS to be covered. It'll be retribution at it's finest.

They already did during the end of the third book of the End & The Death mini series. Then its kinda self explanatory with other information we already know. Everyone was scattered, Purtarburo left mostly intact. Fulgrim ran away after getting his ass handed to him by Rogal and the world was nearly entirely dead in a way unimaginable. There were few survivors left to do a counter attack to pin them between Robute's insanely large retribution fleet and the palace defenders. Then the rest of the surviving primarchs got there late, Vulcan returns to the surface and Jaghatai wakes up.
Not saying youre wrong in any way. We just need a big book series covering it in lore oozing detail.

This is EXACTLY what I've been saying for years now even during the start of the Solar War HH series. We need a Scouring series to show exactly WHAT occurred to the Loyalist and Traitor legions in detail. How each Primarch that remained met their "end" (I LOVE that they are all returning!!) and more importantly narrative how each legion handled the pressure and emotional state of the new era. Then all the politics in the IOM.

I would like to see a lead up to Guilliman meeting Cawl about The Primaris Project. Why Guilliman thought it would be a good idea to improve upon the emperor's work and not just because GW wanted to sell more space marines but an in universe reason to why the primaris should exist.

With Sanguinius' loss, Guilliman lost a confidente & friend. With other Loyalist Primarchs disappearing over time, this added to Guilliman's sorrow and burden. Ending up as apparently the only surviving Primarch, before facing Daemon Fulgrim, must have placed a huge challenge for even one of the Emporer's creations.

14:37 Imagine if Rogel was the one who suggested that Vulcan be exempt from the rule. That he agreed to yield to Guilliman's decision, but only if Vulcan was the exception. Maybe even making a case that Vulcan was the one who the Emperor trusted with the hammer that could destroy Holy Terra. If the Emperor would trust him with that, then he should be exempt from the Codex. Having both sides of the argument come to a mutual agreement that Vulcan should be the exception.

@@scxizm I do like how he has that older brother moment of "Oh... perhaps I was an idiot..." kind of revelation.
Then again I also have the noblebright headcanon where when the Lion returns to The Rock he will go to his most secret quarters and pull out a ancient sheet of instructions from The Emperor which were in fact more like suggestions like "When you think they are ready, assign the wargear and your trusted officers of the Ravenwing to the Vth and XIXth, let them rival over speed so we can expand faster. Do the same with your Deathwing and the Xth and XVIIIth for I trust them near as much as you, and believe they will alloy your abilities with their own. Signed, Emperor"
To which Lions goes "ahhhh fug, I shoulda done this a while ago." and opens his vaults and launches his own version of a Indomitus Crusade but instead of glossy new stuff it's ancient weapons and armor. It touches upon the Goodtimes of Imperial Soup, moves plots, gives the Shattered Legions range and justies the White Scars and Raven Guard rivalry as they now have to have races for who gets the relic hover bike or something.

Corvus Corax understandably wanted his Raven Guard split into chapters, not only does such a concept suit him and vindicates many of his own pioneered tactics but Corvus probably _wanted_ to divide up his forces even further. Some were more perfect than his normal children such as the Raptors, The core few were typically of the Deliverance so kept close ties with Deliverance, you had monstrous butchers of the remaining Terran stock that got exiled with the memo "go out into the deepest void, far away from humanity to be the bloodthirsty sharks you are", and then you have the post corruption raptor projects... who are actual monsters.

My 2 cents Vulcan was let off due to his narure being good natured and protective. Where as Rogal was likely a mess after the seige and he could already see the path rogal would take (litterally took his legion to fight a stupid fight challenge from a traitor brother) that if he at the time was left with them he might get them all killed.

The only thing I can think of is that Vulcan tells Guilliman about the "doomsday" plan. G-man can already start planning for it and potentially hold enough of Humanity together long enough for the Emperor to fully ascend and save what's left.
And Vulcan would simply tell G-man, "It's gotta me and my sons", G-Man would be like, "Oh. Yeah, that makes sense." Lol.

I want to see Guilliman demolish Lorgar on Colchis, resulting in the latter being given daemonhood by the Chaos Gods to save him. Unfortunately, this will make him overconfident and play into the fateful encounter with Fulgrim later on.

Never heard of that. Add that to the list. In fact, I wanna see that most of all. All the hatred between them unleashed. Lorgar realized that Guilliman actually never did hate him after Calth, but with the betrayal, will he apologize? Realizing that Guilliman was forced to do what he did to Monarchia and the other cities by a God that lied. Lied to his sons, lied to the Imperium, lied and told Lorgar the truth of Chaos was a fantasy. Will Guilliman see Lorgar's point of view or will he not care and commence to ass whooping? Lorgar was right, by all accounts he was right, and it was the Emperor's lies that pushed him away and down the path of darkness. Will they both make please to the other? Will they lament the lies that forced them to be enemies? Will they clash blades in anger or in sorrow?

Beyond that I think he's the one the Custodes trust the most, especially with the actions in the End and the Death. That along with them knowing that the emperor trusted his humanity the most might be the turning point, he's proven "incorruptable" to the also incorruptable custodes.

Total honesty, I personally don't care about the scouring now that the End and the Death is finished. We know plenty of what happened and it just seems like HH part 2. I want a break from it. We have so many damn stories in the 41st that need to be addressed that everytime we go backwards it makes me think they either A, don't care about the current setting or B, don't know what they actually want to do with it. The Nids invaded, we got an initial hype, bit then nothing. Gman was gonna go after the Necrons, and that just kinda got shuffled to the background. The Lion is back and came back in one of the best books recently.... then nothing. Splitting focus is doing a disservice to the current setting.
