    Well there's 8:21 of my life I'll never get back.... Thanks for the "white shark" footage 😶

    Yeah can see the figure! They are awesome and minding their own businesses cleansing the ocean. A juvenille 12 footer whitey swam under me while paddling on a longboard and without leash ( thank god). Was terrifed but blessed for meeting one eye to eye and jaw to jaw! Even got it on video from Surfline surfcam!

    I use to dive on a boat called the Peace. That looked like the hull of it. Which dive boat were you on?

      jon michaels you sir are right on target. The Peace Boat is my favorite dive boat and launches out of Ventura California. We were between Santa Rosa Island and San Miguel at Talcott Shoal.

    I can't seem to spot it. With that said, I have been diving for the past 20 years or so. I have been fairly close to a number of species of sharks like Tiger, Hammers, silkies and Bulls. Never seen a white but that doesn't necessarily mean one didn't see me. They are very elusive creatures and to see one up close would be a shocker for sure. Anywho, thanks for the share.

      Rouge, where do you dive usually? Me and my mates spend a lot of time in the south Pacific, open water diving. Not unusual at all to see them pass through. Usually they pay us no mind at all. Sometimes they give us a second pass, then we group up and stay at the bottom near the reefs until they lose interest and swim away. Also, right on man just because you don't see ole sneaky Pete doesn't really mean anything, if one is around, it knows you are there.

      @@EMPTYARSENAL1I have only been in the Atlantic, east coast, US. Form Maryland down to south Carolina. Typically me and the guys dive on ship wrecks.The wealth of sea life down there is astounding. The number of large predatory fish ie, sharks never ceases to amaze me. Ps, jealous of you guys, would love to visit the south Pacific ocean but for a number of reasons I probably will not.

      @@plee501pl Oh, east coast native ey? I spent 9 years there in little creek. The diving out there off the eastern seaboard is beautiful but can be very different and unpredictable seemingly more often than many other locations I've visited. I feel confident you have been closer to a white than you may know. Like you said, they tend to be elusive and the water tends to be very murky there.

      @@EMPTYARSENAL1 Little Creek...something tells me you have some frog blood in your veins... Yes, the water can be quite murky. Going back up to the surface is usually the most nervous moment for me for obvious reasons. I take my time and back out slowly. Gotta admit, I appreciate the adrenaline in that moment, reminds me I'm alive and possible prey.

Nothing should stop you from diving where you want. You should join us sometime, got a feeling you would fit right in with our group. Going to send you a pm requests.

    Can I ask why you would put yourself in that situation? You guys weren't even looking around to randomly check your surroundings, sharks scare the crap out of me.....but I love to research and watched whatever I can about them,oh and ignore my first comment, I was being a smartass

    • @williamsample6626

      Bryan Cullen you know something, I’m a bit new to UA-cam and was a bit taken back with some of the comments. Honestly put the video together for my buddies and family. I know the visibility was poor however the original footage from the camera was a bit more clear. When I combined the cool stuff from 4 dives the quality went down. I was one of the last in the water which I’m guessing is why the shark swam by me. It acted as if I wasn’t there. You asked why go into their environment? I’m a combat vet, I found something that gives me a feeling of awe in a world i struggle to feel. I honestly don’t even think of that stuff when diving, I’m able to “be in another world” if that makes sense.

      We’d gotten split up about 20 minutes into the dive, later he told me he’d dropped over a ledge and visibility was poor even at 20 meters down so I couldn’t locate him. I continued dive found a lobster which were were hunting for and was on my way back to the boat. This place Telcott Shoals in California is notorious for Whites however I’d never seen one until that day.

      R0MANEK shark most divers have never seen them which is cause for excitement when you do, also there is a bit of inherent danger considering they can be massive. I estimated this guy around 10 foot. I found later that all divers were out of the water but 1 guy was on the anchor line doing his safety stop. As you said they are amazing hunters.

      @@williamsample6626 when a great white shark attacks a diver do they eat the whole body because they are hungry? Or do they just bite a leg or arm off and swim away?

    • @williamsample6626
      @williamsample6626  5 років тому

      NightOwL News&Videos. Well statistics show they bite (their bite power is incredible) realize it’s not what they wanted, release and swim away. So yes they often take an limb off and leave. Two years ago in Northern California a free diver was decapitated. Theory is the diver was descending and the shark was coming up at him.
