Bits from the "Rocko Event" You Probably Won't See

- On October 6th, 2012, Carlos Alazraqui, Tom Kenny, Charlie Adler, Doug Lawrence and myself got together at the Downtown Independent Theatre in LA for a reunion of sorts. Doing a live read of Wacky Delly and a panel discussion. I'd thought I would share some bits that won't make it on the Complete Season DVD version of the event. Here I get to do some well deserved shout outs to the original members of the Rocko crew who were there to join us, plus, some other assorted nonsense.

I completely agree with you HWM. We need new voices. The 90's were cool but were 20 years ago. You guys all have much better original fresh ideas that need to see the light of day.

I just wanna say thanks for Rocko's modern life,and Camp Lazlo. I bought the complete DVD series from SHOUT on amazon for myself/for my unborn kids to see REAL cartoons one day. Honestly nick wouldn't be as big as it is today if it wasn't for geniuses with innovation like the staff of Rocko,Ren & Stimpy,and angry beavers. Now it just airs garbage....where was I before I digressed? Oh yeah thanks for all the laughs and the ones my kids will get when I show them the show!

I hope that someday my life will become as modern as Rocko's. In the meantime I shall set aside some money for this DVD. I like DVD's.

Well good news. There's going to be a new Rocko's Modern Life tv movie coming out later this year.
You're an incredible inspiration for me. I'm getting into game-design and my style is pretty much dominated by watching rocko throughout my childhood. It probably turned me into a wacky right-minded cynical philosopher but whatever.

Here's what I need to know. What does Murray think of some of the crap Nick has released after he left like Fanboy and Chum Chum, or The Mighty B. I would imagine people like him, Jim Jinken's and Craig Bartlet facepalming at how bad Nicktoons have gotten since they left.
dexter and doug didnt get reboots. PPG had some anime spin off,it wasn't very good IMO. didnt have the same style as PPG at all.
Joe, I love how you talk about politically correct the series still is. It is a series that will be "modern" for many more years to come!

Rocko's Modern Life is my favorite cartoon of all time (for sure my favorite Nick cartoon), but I would never want to see it come back. I think it would ruin it. I loved the first few seasons of Spongebob Squarepants, one of the best cartoons ever. However, after the first few seasons, the show became painfully annoying, unfunny, and repetitive, and I would hate to see Rocko's Modern Life be doomed to the same fate. No offense to the writers, but sometimes shows just 'run their course.'

Kelena hengs often with Rocko, Heffer and Filbert, sometimes she is HUGE jealous both of Melba Toast, Bev, Claudette, Alicia and Sheila, also other girls for Rocko’s affection. She has older pretty sister and 10 yngster brothers and sisters

Why? I love the show but why reboot it? We need a NEW show by a new creative mind just like Joe Murray was in his day. We're never gonna get a freaking voice of our own if we keep living in the past trying to reboot everything.
