Great video!!! New subscriber here. It's amazing to see an actual real perspective of Colombia rather than the flashy Hollywood drugs, jungle, poverty land, narcos land they like to present
It's an interesting analysis of Colombia's economy! Let's see where the new government system takes Colombia to, we don't want Colombia taking the same fate that Cuba and Venezuela have taken, specially Venezuela, since it used to be a rich and prosperous nation, and the Dictatorship and Fascism had destroyed the Country and people had flee by the millions, it looks like Colombia is heading the same route as Cuba and Venezuela, not prosperous, not economic progress, not a good near future for Colombians either!!!
I love your humour blended within the informative videos, one of the best things about this channel. Hoping this channel gets the million subscribers it deserves soon.
meh. colombia is only doing well right now thanks to its blessed abundant resources. nothing innovative of worth has ever been produced out of colombia. Colombia also has a machismo culture, which isn't exactly good for business. It's also got tons of drug and corruption problems. Vietnam will surpass colombia within 20 years and vietnam started at the bottom of countries just 35 years ago.
Thanks for watching ! Unfortunately I didn't collect all the sources when I made this video but here is the website to the National Coffee Federation in Colombia (in English), they have some publications that you may find useful for your paper. I'll post the link below. They have a symbol that is on all their coffee products which is a common sight in Colombian supermarkets :) federaciondecafeteros.org/wp/?lang=en
Hey! 🇨🇴 I find it interesting that you take the time to analyze the economy of such a country, so cheers on that. Nonetheless, I missed other very important indicators: we can't focus just on GDP as the only important one: wealth in Colombia concentrates in the hands of the 2% of the population while there's more and more poverty everywhere you look. Also, yeah, tourism and creative industries... meanwhile narcotrafico is the one of the main wealth generating activities of congress man, as well as corruption and illegal/violent appropriation of farmers and indigenous lands... that just keeps making the distance bigger. Colombia might be safer today for those who have fortunes, but the truth is that POLICE FORCES working along WITH PARAMILITARY GROUPS are murdering people today. Maybe the country will actually start to head towards a decent future when the very wealthy corporations and individuals stop privatizing everything and start paying appropriate taxes... Greetings from Colombia! (Sorry if any part doesn't make much sense, was not the easiest to write this in English)
this is a great addition, thank you! it's really frustrating when all people want to do is talk about money. they ignore the social imbalances and just look at the people that are succeeding, not those who have been left behind, or those making that money for the fatcats above. it makes perfect sense, and it's really well put :)
amazing! It drew a totally different picture of Colombia. Most contributions are more telling about a poor and slowly emerging Country and discuss all kinds of problems for Expats. Would be great to hear much more about it.
Yeah! I currently am from there and reside there, so it was great to see. I also work inthe up and coming creative economy, but you are right, some things requires stable politics and geo politics for growth and stability here. Though concerning the creative industry, I see a lot of potential.
@@kyletabor636 there is Col4.0 next weekend that has the largest south America SIGGRAPH like events on animation, games and other creative industries. It's in Bogota in Corferias, highly recommend.
Very little knowledge of Colombia, Colombia has agricultural products, hydrography and power industries as well as , technology, leadership in the ship and naval industries and 100 things more.
I think he did a fantastic job in summarizing the country’s economy in one video. Of course he missed a bunch of stuff but it’s a 10min video come on ...
