  • In the scorched aftermath of World War III, the Earth is a nuclear wasteland, and humanity's last hope lies in autonomous war machines called "claws." But when these mechanical saviors begin evolving beyond their programming, the lines between friend and foe blur. Major Hendricks stumbles upon a horrifying secret that could change the course of the war and humanity itself. But what happens when the hunter becomes the hunted, and your ally could be your executioner?

It is a good flick. It's set on a colony world that came under attack by a rival, all came from Earth.

I feel like this is where the inspiration for Terminator came from too. At least the glimpses into the future from the first movie.

The irony of an AI 'reading' a book about deceptive AI. As a side it's worth trying to get the AI to be consistant with the voices it gives characters.

Sci-fi is often predictive of trends. The "claws" sure sound like AI driven drones, and how likely is it the AI might evolve their charges. I thought of "Screamers" about a 1:30 into the story.

Hay love your ch and classic sci-fi.
I was wondering have you heard of a story called Spores its set in london and its basically a body horror about a fungus that takes mankind ( & the environment surrounding us inc buildings)on a horrendous journey of evolution and mutation. Its a really great story , if you get the chance try listen too it and it would be amazing if you inc it in your classic scifi section .x❤

    • @dizheller2101

Same here. Overall OK, but with "scope for improvement". What disturbed me most, we're the voices of the characters - the 'reader' didn't distinguish between them. Often I had to guess, who was speaking. - AI still has a way's to go.

Reproduction rate seems to be the key to survival - - Cat, Rats, Dogs, Rabbits, insects - quick gestation short maturity time - - - Elephants & whales - long gestation and a number of years to maturity - - Humans - 9 months and a significant time for maturity - - Robots - just time to put the pieces together and instant maturity - - It seems Humans, elephants, whales, tigers, etc with a significant time for gestation, limited off spring and needed time for maturity are all doomed for extinction .... Yes, the insects will be the survivors...

The first 4 minutes are littered with so much unnecessary/irrelvant information and lack of logic (in my eyes) that I won't continue.
Not my type of book, but I'm happy for anyone who enjoys it nevertheless.
