@@kdrizzy2012 Yes it was surprising. The Nemo are is supposed to be low-biodiversity due to the Southern Pacific Gyre (congregation of currents), which would suggest few fish and thus no seabirds. We'd seen one or two albatross on the route, but nothing like what met us when we got in the water.

I’d love to know more about the albatross that were there, a very unusual discovery, especially since there is quite literally no land for thousands of miles, even then - it wouldn’t make sense for them to fly that far! I’d love to know more about the albatross that were there, a very unusual discovery, especially since there is quite literally no land for thousands of miles, even then - it wouldn’t make sense for them to fly that far! Either way, the bravery is crazy, well done!
A lot of people ask about the birds and it is covered in comments below. But I'll see if I can edit the main content. Basically, theya re sea birds and don't need land. And they can fly 1200km in one go!
