This was captured for me by @trafficcam on a Tennessee DOT camera. If you were stuck on the Mississippi River Bridge on I-55 on 8/24/2023 this is the guy you need to thank.
Whatever the legality, and I see differing opinions, generally in these situations people fail to recognise that while the rhs truck pulls ahead of the left truck approaching the restriction, the rear of the truck is still behind the rear of the left, making it a no win situation for the lefthand truck. A driver should not be allowed to commence passing another unless there is room in the available roadway for the whole of his vehicle to pass. People usually just look at where the fronts are but neglect the rears. Drivers and commenters alike. I was once in a situation like that (although I do come froma rh drive country so it was different, esp as the other vehicle was in the merge lane) where a car and trailer attempted to pass me, in a saloon, but did not leave room for his trailer to pass, ripping the side out of my Dad's car. In a race you can lead by a nose across the finishing line but die before completely crossing it and still win. This is not a race though, and every part of your vehicle must pass before you have completed the passing manoeuvre.
Left truck is at fault. Was it a dick move? Eh, one could see it as such, but ultimately it's up to the merging vehicle to ensure the way is clear to proceed, and the through lane has the right of way.
Dude hopped out like it wasn't his fault about to rage.
So to avoid hitting some construction barrels and a sign he hit the other truck?
I thought he was getting out to fight!!
He was in front other truck should have yielded for zipper method.
@@leightonboster3332sadly its always the mergers duty to yeild
@@dubu12so dumb, this was clearly the other truck's fault by zipping up to wedge him in

Well someone is getting arrested and losing a job..
More likely now that we can actually show the video!!!
Quite possibly both of them.
Bye bye job!

😩
It's crazy what I am catching on the TDOT cameras. I could post 50 of these per day. There are some really crazy folks out there!!
truck in front has right of way of way for zipper method.
Agreed
😅wrong actually, guy who is merging must yield to whomever is in the other lane, regardless of who is in front.
@@vampeel Still shitty. Zoom up to block someone from merging. Maybe the law doesn't get you, but God will, it's a sure ticket to hell.
a blinker is not a yield sign. if you are changing lanes, for whatever reason, you must do it safely.
@@vampeel that's wrong. Learn how to use the zipper method. It state very clearly one car after another from each lane. Like a zipper...
🤦
I would have been furious sitting on that bridge
