भारतीय न्याय संहिता (बीएनएस) की धारा 14:
कानून द्वारा बाध्य किसी व्यक्ति द्वारा या स्वयं को बाध्य मानकर तथ्य की भूल से किया गया कार्य।
"कोई बात अपराध नहीं है, जो किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति द्वारा की जाए, जो उसे करने के लिए विधि द्वारा आबद्ध है या जो तथ्य की भूल्र के कारण, न कि विधि की भूल के कारण सद्भावपूर्वक विश्वास करता है कि वह उसे करने के लिए विधि द्वारा आबद्ध है"
Section 14 of The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS):
Act done by a person bound, or by mistake of fact believing himself bound, by law.
“Nothing is an offence which is done by a person who is, or who by reason of a mistake of fact and not by reason of a mistake of law in good faith believes himself to be, bound by law to do it.”
The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita is the criminal code of the Republic of India. When it enters force, it will replace the Indian Penal Code enacted in 1860. The BNS covers all aspects of criminal law, including offenses, punishments, defenses, and procedures.
भारतीय न्याय संहिता भारत के लिए प्रस्तावित एक नयी न्याय संहिता है। यह एक व्यापक संहिता है जो वर्तमान भारतीय दंड संहिता, आपराधिक प्रक्रिया संहिता और साक्ष्य अधिनियम का स्थान लेगी। 11 अगस्त 2023 को भारत के गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने लोकसभा में भारतीय न्याय संहिता विधेयक, 2023 पेश किया।
