    Monica Lewinsky has a great TED talk, that discusses what it was like to be the target punchline of every dirty joke worldwide. And how many times she's attempted to commit suicide. And what her life has been like since. She was a 20 year old who was being flattered by the most powerful man in the world and actually thought she was in love with him. I give her a lot more credit, having survived this long.

      Carroll Goodenough How many women whose men screw around do you see blame their men IRL ? None They always have an excuse for the guy. She threw herself at him , she's a skank etc. Or they blame themselves . My thought is throw the bum out. If he did it once he'll do it again. No one is stolen , he chose to go off with her. If it's not her next time it will be someone else.

      That’s how most women act when they find out their husband had an affair. Especially with a woman who KNEW the man was married: and she actually threw a hair dyer at him or something like that.

    Monica was having a lot of conversations with her "friend" Linda Tripp who told her not to clean the dress and to keep it if she ever needed proof of what happened. Monica felt betrayed because Linda had been secretly taping conversations she and Monica had about the affair. However, the advice about the dress probably saved Monica in some ways.

    Your eyes are stunning!!!!! The other part of the story is Hillary is supposed to be an advocate for women. She did her best to destroy Monica. I know you would have hard feeling against the women who your husband cheated on you with but she acted like Bill did nothing wrong and it was all Monica. She was a naive very young women who had the President of the United States showing interest in her. And he had a lot of experience with manipulation of women and cheating. I hated what Hillary did to her. Both Monica and Bill were in the wrong but i hate listening to Hillary act like she is for women and supports the MeToo movement when Bill is a predator and she supported him and went after Monica.

    • @Wilphart
      @Wilphart 4 роки тому +14

      I also dig the eyes. More colorful than I'm used to seeing, but I think that should be a trend. Hypnotic, even. I like it a lot.
      I am about the same age as Monica, and my morals were better reflected in those times. In other words, marriage is a legal contract, and to break that contract shows that a person has no integrity. Personal pleasure trumps family commitment. I think cheating on his wife is worse than lying about it to cover it up, but either way - if a person will lie for personal gain or to avoid personal consequences, how can the country trust this person to be in charge of hundreds of millions of lives? I don't think impeachment was an over-reaction at all. We're more used to infidelity now-a-days, but that doesn't make it OK. And I think the fact that Hillary stood by her man so quickly ultimately hurt her in the eyes of the public. It did for me. Made me think she stuck by him because he was in a position of power instead of doing the right thing and divorcing him for infidelity. Even if she ultimately forgave him, she didn't seem to be very affected by the situation. That probably helped him. But it probably hurt her.

    There is no such thing as "useless stories from history". We need history to be told. History is so useful, especially at this time, when people are literally demanding that history not be taught in our schools. I don't remember exactly how the saying goes, but basically... those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it... or something like that. We can't learn from something we're never taught. Love your video. Please keep making them. I remember when this scandal broke. I always knew there was something off about Bill Clinton... he made my skin crawl. Still does.

    True story: I was raised “California Republican” and my Reagan-loving father HATED Clinton. In December 2000, just before W was sworn in, there was a TV special, “Christmas at the White House,” hosted by Bill and Hillary. My dad was kind of top of his game in the TV production world (he worked all the big awards shows, all the Olympics on US soil, Kennedy Center Honors, etc), so he was on the crew that went into the White House to film the TV special. And my dad *hated* Clinton. *Hated* him. Until he met the man. He got the “full Bill” treatment over the week he spent working closely with the President and his wife, and came home *raving* about what great people they were. And here’s the kicker: for the next *decade*, my family was on the Clinton’s personal Christmas card list. Addressed not just to my dad, but to my mom, my sisters and I, *by name*. It was actually pretty cool, not gonna lie. Say what you will about Clinton, his morality, his politics, his legacy... whatever. That man has charisma so potent, it’s practically a weapon.
