Charles Payne is absolutely right! I am a baby boomer who grew up in NYC during the Mad Men era of the 1960s and in school we learned about what the American economy was like then. For us the 1960s was an extension of the 1920s.

Well done, and if you want to understand, or begin to understand, what is happening in DC now, and no, the comparisons are not exact, but the themes and tides of history are the same, read Babylon Berlin. The TV series is outstanding, that's easier to do and still see how things are shaped and how many ways things can turn differently, but the books are best, at least to immerse yourself into so you can feel then and now and decide your choice.

One factor that he fails to mention was the Great Migration during WW1.
That was when individuals like the president of Sears Roebuck, julius Rosenthal, in chicago went down south and handed out 60,000 train tickets to bring workers up to chicago to fill the jobs, many to work the production lines of Sears prefabricated homes demand, that were originally filled by the men fighting in the trenches in Europe.
When the Americans that finally survived the spanish flu, the poison gases, the disease, the artillery, machine guns, and the hell in the trenches returned home to chicago and many other cities, their jobs were filled by the so called Great Migration brought up from the south.
Of course, your history books or education. system are not going to mention this.
Wait until you see what happens to our economy after the 12 millions plus illegals fill millions of jobs previously filled by United States citizens, especially in the municipal union jobs in all of these sanctuary cities like chicago, denver, Philadelphia, Los Angelas, and New York, etc.

You obviously never heard about the "roaring 20's" They had a stock market that was booming. Money was being made left and right. Then suddenly all of that just stopped.
The parallels are there is you look for them. The stock market is overinflated and will come back down to a more reasonable level. Look at the charts of how long it took for the stock market to recover after the 1929 crash. It did not happen in 5 years or even 10.
